I concur. I actually size my 511 last at 9D and my 65 last as 8E. Quite weird yes.

Interesting - good info for others to know. I measure as a 7.5C on the Brannock and typically wear a 7D in the 65, 511, 97 and 145. I wear a 7.5D in the 114. On the 222 I vary between a 6.5E and a 7D. 79 just doesn't work for me at all. The 108 I still haven't figured out yet - 7D doesn't quite feel good, but 7.5D is way too big.

I have to do a take-back on this. This was one of the worst snow days I can recall - had to spend a long time shoveling my car out from the parking lot before driving home from work and that included standing knee-deep in snow. Would not want my Daltons exposed to that, even with a vibram sole. I know this is an AE thread so I apologize, but those redwings hold up like iron - you could wear them through hell and back and they would survive.

Thanks for the info. Was looking at the McAllister and Harrison, but a Park Avenue for $150 would be hard to pass up.

I'm usually quite tolerant for seconds, but I honestly can't find a damn thing wrong with them. Quite pleased with what I got for my $127 smile.gif

Two things - love those Patriots. What kind of size/width did you go with?
And - enough with the deflated jokes already. They got enough of that for the past week.

Is there a Brooks Brothers version of the Patriot or any of AE's penny loafers?

I'm just bustin' balls. tongue.gif

My usual size, 10.5 3E. Width is spot on. Although this last is shorter than the others, and my toe is right up against the end. Not uncomfortable, though. I'm sure they'll bteak in easily.

What?  No football grain?  Those look comfy.  Since my Gobi try-on fail, I still have suede on my mind.

Breaking in my first, nowhere near last, pair of AE's. Hales bought on clearance. They feel excellent.

In the retail stores they carry a BB version of the Randolph with a combo tap sole.  Bad news is I have never seen it stocked on shoebank, so my guess is that it is only available first quality.  But good news is with some of those 20-30% off sales they do, the price does go down a lot.  Nice shoes I will say.  No BB Patriot that I know of.

Do you know I was like seconds away from saying "What, no football grain?" - you stole my line.

Toe being right up against the end leaves me with a vision of my incorrectly sized Nashuas, which were NOT good.  Maybe they'll be ok with the flexibility of the suede.  Good luck - they look really nice, hope they work out.

Someone talk to me about the 333 last shoes and their style and fit relative to others.

I took the same size as the 65 last but still didn't like it - too long for me, too much bend.  I would get some other members' opinions on this too though.  One SA said it wouldn't work well for a shorter guy and in my case he was definitely right.

I was just looking at the BB website - is that the Grayson they have on there?  I never saw that in the B&M store.
