Allen Edmonds Appreciation Thread - reviews, pictures, sizing, etc... - Page 3652

The new Rogue and Warwick have landed on AE's site.  They're on the 201 last like the First Avenue.

The 201 last is the newest last introduction from the Product Development team. This last has a higher cone, providing more room for a higher instep and contemporary shelf appeal. The toe down has fuller forefoot width for more comfort and slight chisel to the toe profile, providing a sleek looking aesthetic which complements our iconic 65 last.

4. I often get ignored at the stores as well due to my age...

Very mysterious @mdubs
 - are you 19 or 90?  To me (and I'm not an SA), any adult male with feet entering an AE store would seem like a potential customer.

Also, I can't imagine YOU being ignored, considering your footwear.  Any skilled SA should identify you as a potential goldmine when you enter the county.  I'm just saying

If I remember from another post correctly, Mike is in his (early?) 30s. I similarly get ignored being a 28 year old that, if clean shaven and not wearing my work clothes, could pass for someone that's applying for college rather than evaluating college applications.

They're both really nice in person, as well. The welt has some subtle but very much appreciated wheeling (or is it fudging?) and a beveled welt edge between the heel and the widest part of the shoe. Very nice touches that bring the classiness level up. These welt changes actually look a little like Carmina's finishing touches. And the new sole stamp is nice, too.

I think they're calling these new welt improvements "sculpted arches and framed trimming". They are very subtle (hard to tell from photos on the website) but in person are very nice.

I really like the look of the Rogue.  I'll have to get fitted in that last, and I wish they'd added another row of eyelets (holdover from the Sanford I guess), but there may be an MTO in my future.

I dunno. For some reason, this picture makes me think about a big nose with lots of pimples and a walrus mustache. Kinda like JP Morgan.

That Warwick looks really nice though, and the new last seens an improvement over the basic shape of the 5 last. More contoured, classy.

Is the rogue supposed to replace the strand?  I hope not...AE has discontinued a lot of good things in the past but if this was supposed to replace the Strand... I don't know.

I couldn't see how. This is a derby, not an oxford like the strand.

The Strand is a bal, this is a derby. I presume it replaces the prior half-brogue, the Sanford, which is now in clearance.

EDIT: blast! #2.. @ironist got to it first.
