The lowest I've seen is $199 for the shoes and a pair of shoe trees.

I think it was a stacked coupon, spend $250 and get $50 off. So basically shoes (already on sale) + shoe trees equal appoximately $250 or $200 after the $50 deduction.

It's a great price but it's not made on the same last as the Park Aves.

The boardroom is built on the 7 last instead of the 5 last of the park avenue. it has more room in general. I bought s pair at 207 before tax. But, they are too wide for me, so I am returning.

Couldn't get enough of the natty shell MacNeils since I received them last week. Wearing them again today.

Those look great! I'd have a hard time keeping those anywhere other than on my feet...

My brother in law recently asked for my help with shoes so we got him all sized up and he bought a pair of Park Aves in dark brown in 9.5D

The question now is how should he size the Clark Street?

Nice! I just picked up a pair for 203 before tax last week. Haven't worn them yet though.

Thanks for the info. I just contacted the ShoeBank, and they actually carry factory-second Boardrooms for $149.

Just got a pair of the Lasalle, which is essentially the same shoe except with calfskin instead of CXL and leather soles instead of Danite.  Had a hard time getting the 8-last to work for me, as it seems to be narrower through the toe area than the 5-last.  I'm a 9D in the 5-last; same size in the Lasalle was just too tight on my toes.  9.5D was too long.  9E was good through the toebox, but big in the heel.  Ended up going with the 9E, although the fit isn't perfect.

I was thinking about the advice people were giving about what my next purchase should be and it really should be something in burgundy/merlot.   Do you all recommend the McAllister for someone who would need something appropriate for a 50/50 split between suits and business casual?  I honestly never even considered wearing merlot with navy suits but apparently that's fairly normal.

+1 - I thought i was good when I hit JAB for 3 pair in Oct-Nov... But 3 AE MTOs, a black grain brogued Santoni captoe blucher, a black TBNY apron toe loafer and black Magnanni stitched toe blucher later, I'm down 3. (I owned ONE black shoe prior)

For the AE loyalists who'd trash these last three buys:
TBNY RETAIL: $299 - paid $44.87
MAGNANNI: $299 - paid $57.89
SANTONI: $425 - paid $84 + change

$1000 worth of shoes for under $189? I'm good with that, and I'll have them FOREVER.

Sorry for the mini thread jack...

Walnut Daltons today. I sent some guy bolting down Michigan avenue at lunch who asked what maker the boot was and where it could be found; he complimented them, and hurried in the direction of AE's Gold Coast store. These will be 2 years old in August, I think...and still NO creases - anywhere.

Unboxing in 2013

I just ordered and received a pair of first quality Duke loafers from AE clearance.  I have the Patriots in football grain as well as the Promontory Point boots.  I wanted the rubber soled loafers, so I got them for a great price.  I expected them to arrive with shoe bags, but they did not.  Is this because they're DR-made shoes -or- is this because they're clearance???

The Shoebank now carries JAB seconds?  That is quite interesting.

I think they have for a while, but they are not normally listed on the website.  Ask and ye shall receive!

Those look ... Macktastic.

By the way, if the opportunity ever presents itself, I think a good GMTO would be a Macneil in natty shell with perhaps a slightly darker welt/edge given that the upper should darken slightly over time.
