PSA: Shaker Heights in Brown Leather/Olive Tweed only $250.42 on 6pm.com! Really tempted to grab a pair although I really shouldn't as I have 2 different GMTO boots on the way...but this is a great price, beating AE's own "Clearance" price by almost $100...As of now, they seem to have every "D" width size in stock from 7 to 12, and then size 14.

Selling my Neumok in brown that I got from Nordstrom, I find I don't wear it often, in fact I've only worn it about 8 times. I know this might sound like blasphemy, but for casual wear I've actually found sneakers to be ideal - more comfortable, cheaper and easier maintenance.

I have a pair of Suede alden boots on crepe sole(which I hated the look of originally) I actually prefer over sneakers for comfort...try suede for a nice comfort shoe, boot or chukka...I sometimes get home and do no even take them off like all would almost all other footwear

I can see moving them there but maybe having the snuff with a different sole or the blue with different edge dressing in the current lineup....I really do not get what they do at all...

The Sturgis also suffers from aweful AE photos...I think that is a boot they could offer in some new leathers and maybe throw in a cap toe and keep as a staple...I guess the Odenwald will move there next before I get to MTO that one...

I would guess that for efficiency sale they only keep seasonal items in regular production (outside of "timeless classics" models) during their intended season. Though sand and blue strike me as summery colors for suede...

Yea I guess but still not to have a suede Chukka in the line up all the time seems crazy to me.....oh well...guess the olive suede one is not happening...unless it is a June release... :)

Natural Shell Strands

-Mike

Wow those look great. It seems like they are much lighter than the walnut shell. How do you like the natural shell color?

Going from 9D to 8.5E maintains the width but decreases the length right?

So if one were to go down in 2 length sizes but main the same widith, it would be from 9D to 8EE (assuming that 8EE in width = 8.5E in width = 9D in width)

Not in my experience. I wear 9D in 5-lasted balmorals but 8.5D in 5-lasted bluchers, and the heel width doesn't really change between them. I tried on an 8.5E and it was definitely wider in the heel than the 9D, at least in the 5 last.

Of course at some point the smaller size E will be as wide as the larger size D, but I'm guessing it's about a whole size down (9D being roughly equal to 8E in width). Might be wrong though, just my experience.

I've had a 9D in the 5-last and 8.5E in the 5 last. I think the 8.5E feels wider to me in the toe, forefoot and heel. The 9D used to pinch my big toe across the top and my pinky toe.

Of course, this could have been just based on where in the shoe my foot and making sure everything's in the optimal part of the last and not necessarily the dimensions.

Bourbon strands today. I switched out the laces from the black waxy lace to the brown laces. I'm not sure which I like better.

I'm looking for a belt to match my Cordovan Patriots in Burgundy. Any suggestions? I was hoping not to drop $200 on the cordovan tab belt. How's the wide basic dress belt in merlot?

Thanks!

Perfectly adequate. I pair mine with shell often. Close enough in color from a distance that no one would say boo.

Don't assume that the AE burgundy shell belt will perfectly match the AE burgundy shell shoes.  My belt is more of a cherry color.  I still wear it to "match" the shoes, but I'm not as much of a stickler for the perfect color as some.
