I just had a pair of Fifth Ave in Dark ("Bob's") Chili delivered to me and I do not see any streaking at all. The color looks great to me! Order away.

Early Christmas present for me. Stopped by my local menswear / shoe store and they had some AEs marked 1/2 price. So I couldn't resist these Odenwalds. If you are wondering, the 9D fit best while 95% of my other AEs are 9.5D.

Sorry for the bad pic - it's a quick one at my desk. I will try to get a better photo tonight after some AE Leather Lotion.

Agree MUCH better boot in person than the picture show and yeah 13D fit me well compared to my regular 13E....I am sure a 12.5 would have been perfect.

I was really close to MTO this during the trunk show.

If think if they offered this boot in a captoe also and maybe a touch taller in the shaft(I just do not recall fully how high it was) this could be a staple boot that they could offer in a variety of makeups and be very popular...For me while I love my EC, Bayfield, Dalton's etc they all tend to have that narrow pointy captoe and this is rounded and casual looking ....If AE offered this boot in a Rough Out leather it would be KILLER!

I like the Odenwald. Unfortunately, though, it's a limited size run boot, so my EEE clodhoppers can't comfortably fit into them. Maybe they'll get added to the regular collection and I'll be able to get a pair someday.

Got a coupon in my catalog for 15% off AE "branded" products? What are these? clothing? polishes and such? If this means shoes, I can combine with the AMEX deal :bounce2:

I don't see why it wouldn't work on shoes...

This is just the leather flexed.

This is with the flap pulled back.

Any neumok brethren have a chance to check for me?

Could you take a look to see what the selection of 9.5d is like?
I'll see if there's anything left the week after next week when I have time to make it to the city.

I was just there an hour ago, though I was only looking for myself. They have a big selection of AE, including older models. Unfortunately, however, they had nothing that worked for me that also fit (I'm typically an 8.5EEE or 9EEE). They did have an Alden medallion cap toe that fit me (don't remember if it was open or closed lacing), but it was black and I don't have a use for a black shoe.

Where is the 15% off coupon?  I just received the holiday catalog today, but I don't see the coupon.

I must have a different catalog.  No mention of 15% off on page 3 that I can find.

I have committed heresy or a sacrilege on my Long Branch boots.  I pretty much only wear boots and I was getting pretty frustrated from having to hurriedly remove my boots at the TSA line when travelling. I didn't want to wear shoes and I considered Chelsea boots but couldn't quite get into them. So I arrived at side-zip boots.  But none of the brands I like and/or am knowledgeable about have side-zip boots.

I considered some nicer Italian boots (Marsell, Buttero, MMM, etc.) but then thought about having zips installed on one of my existing boots.  I contacted Nick at B. Nelson but he declined to undertake the project.  He was concerned about the heel counters getting in the way.  I respect his expertise and opinion but I am stubborn and thought I'd try a local cobber, who had no such compunctions about tearing into my boots.

$40 later and maybe not a perfect job but I think I may have solved my problem.  How they'll hold up with wear remains to be seen.  But I am excited at trying them out.  I don't think I'd do this to one of my nicer boots but the LBs are great beater boots for travelling.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.  I don't have the nads to try something like that on my beloved boots.  I hope they work out for you.

Awesome!  Nice things should make our lives better, not more difficult.
