Ran into some 10d 5th aves at Nordstrom rack today for 140. A bit beat up, but nothing done polish wouldn't fix.

Of course I wear a 10.5eee. Never find AEs at the rack in my size.

So I saw a pair of Franciscans out in the wild on Friday and while it was never a shoe I really liked looking at it on the site I made the mistake of stopping by my local store and trying a pair on... They look really great on the foot.

Now the question is do I buy a pair of 2nd for 199 or do I buy 1st for 313 (I am sitting on a 15% off coupon)

what say you?

I would try to order the 2nds first--the worst that could happen is you end up returning them...upside potential is you save yourself $100+.

Depends - are you going to wear it as a dress or a casual shoe?  If dress, I'd go for firsts.  If casual, then 2nds are usually fine.

I am thinking I would use it both ways and I am thinking if I pull the trigger it will be in Chili.  After seeing several pair of Bourbon 2nds I am very hesitant to order Chili as a 2nd

Chili doesn't normally have the streaking issues found on bourbon. Not sure with Dark Chili and Bobs chili.

PSA: Shell cordovan shell daltons on the bay in 11 3E  (seconds)

Kinda tempted myself...

EDIT: also these are not AEs, but I'd jump on these Aldens in cognac shell cordovan if I remotely fit a 9E.

I know a lot of people here aren't loafer fans, but the Jermyns made an appearance this Monday.

Long-time lurker here.

Kenilworth (Walnut), Dalton (Bourbon), Strands (Walnut), Park Avenue (Drk Brown), Nuemok (Brown)

I still need to pick up a black cap-toe, and maybe a pair (or more) in bourbon and perhaps oxblood/merlot/chilli. My favorites are probably my bourbon Daltons; followed closely by the Strands.

I've picked up all of these shoes in the last 4 months. Luckily, I live within 30 miles from about 8 Nordstrom Racks. With the exception of the Strands, most of them were picked up for $150 or less. It's amazing the kind of stuff you can find there; even moreso when you find something in your size.

It's becoming an addiction. Glad to see I'm not alone.

Purchased these 2 years ago. The leather used on these is excellent.

edit: oops! Didn't notice until reviewing these pix that I have different colored laces in each shoes!! That's what I get for being hasty in my care regimen...

Nice collection!  I almost got a pair of bourbon Daltons myself, but I was looking for a winter/snow boot for here in Denver, and ended up with the Promontory Point instead.  Seems like you have the "brown" shades covered nicely, Oxblood or Merlot would be a good next option.  Maybe a boat shoe for the summer - the Eastports have a long break in time, but once you get past that they are awesome.  I have a tan pair and will be picking up the chocolate brown ones for the summer.

I like to have 3 shoes in rotation for each season/purpose.  So Walnut Strands, Bourbon Universities, Merlot Chesters for dress/work.  Tan Aberdeens, Brown Cronmoks, and Burgundy Promontory Point Boots for casual Fall/Winter.  Sand Suede Amoks, Tan Eastports and red Sperry Topsiders for casual Spring/Summer.  I need to grab some loafers for more dressy spring/summer.....
