Just curious.

My most comfortable AE shoes are the BB Aberdeen LWB.  They're not my favorite or the most attractive, although I do like them a lot.  They are definitely the most comfortable.  I attribute it to the rubber sole and the poron insole.  Also, my guess is that the distressed leather shoes require less break-in.

If you had to wear only one pair for one day, which would it be? I'm not talking about the one that looks the best, or is the most versatile. I'm talking about the one shoe that fits and feels better than any of the others. Maybe it didn't fit perfectly right out of the box, but it took a while to break in and get it just right. Or, heck, maybe it was the one that fit immaculately right out of the box. I dunno.

Just curious.
I bet I'm gonna be the only one to say this, but my black calf Neumora. The 3 last runs slightly loose on me, but not enough to go down a size or width. I had a cobbler put an extra notch on both straps, and it's like second skin.

For the record, I find AE's black custom calf to be grippier and stretchier and more comfy than the other calf colors. I remember Paul G saying in a recent Reddit that he sources black from an entirely different tannery than the other colors.

Those look fantastic. Alden-esque. They did a good job with the fudging on yours, which I normally don't care for.

Do you like the new darker #8 color?

I think that is super subjective because of foot shapes and lasts. I guess for me, the Park Avenue.

I like it for this pair. But I think I prefer the lighter one for the MacNeil, Leeds and Grayson.

Hey enablers,

Lurker since the turn of the calendar year, more recent AE addict (just hit double digits)... I am on the hunt for a cap toe boot, to accompany my chili Shaker Heights and bourbon Daltons. I see the Eagle County/Rivers on sale. I actually prefer the River, as the black lug sole seems to make them *slightly* less casual. Is this sole as big/tall/clunky in person as they appear to be on AE's site? I also see the football Promotory on the shoebank site, but am not sold on them. Do any other options exist? I am not quite ready to take the next step to MTO (or shell). Does anyone have suggestions or comments?

Watch - what are your cap-toe boots above? They are fantastic!

Thanks everyone!!!

Thanks! Those are actually Eagle County MTOs. If you reach out to Rostov you may get onto a Eagle River MTO of almost the exact same make up as the brown grain Eagle County in my collage.

My brown shell Dundee, which I am wearing today, are probably my most comfortable AE.

Lots of AE for RL at the SH sale in NYC today if anyone's interested. Didn't pick anything up but there were most models spread across all sizes when I was there first thing this morning. Today was 65% off retail I believe - could have been 70%. Best prices would be on Monday when remaining stock would be at about 80% off (assuming there's anything left).

Lots of RRL and Black Label clothes and accessories. It's the first day today so will be pretty manic. I got there before opening to avoid the crowds.
