Pics or it didn't happen. No, in all seriousness I have a pair of shells that does not shine well, maybe this will do the trick. Could yo post some examples?

I'll try snap some pictures of before and after. The Alden Leather Defender is the last thing I apply after either, reno, saphir cordovan creme or deer bone.

Next time you guys need some shoe care products, check out our new Premium Leather Conditioner. This new item is best for conditioning and protecting. It is a water based gel cream that contains lanolin, beeswax and mink oil.

We just received a shipment the other day and the stuff is amazing. Compares very favorably to the other brands that are frequently cited here.

Interesting. Made in America, so it's not Saphir. I wonder if it's rebranded VSC???

Note: I have a relatively high instep and this likely contributed to the tightness.

I wear 8.5D/E in 5-65 last, and my 9D Sheltons are still a little tight due to my similarly high instep.

FWIW, I just happen to be wearing mine today:

I have a high instep but went the same size in these as I do in my other 1 lasts (and 5 lasts).  Socks are medium-weight; laces are snug but not uncomfortably so.  I've worn them between five and 10 times so the footbed may settle a little further.

I've been on the look out for these in the NYC stores and none of them had them last week. Is this recommended for calfskin only or does it also work on Cordovan?

It almost looks like the same consistency as Saphir cordovan cream. Obviously that's not what it is, but VSC is much more watery than those pictures.

Works great on shells. I just checked and it looks like all of the New York store are now in stock.

Great. I'll have to pick up a jar and test it out.

Yes.  I'll also add that I've been caught in a downpour in my shell Patriots (which had been treated with Saphir cordovan cream) and the water beaded up and wiped away easily.  A little TLC afterwards got them as good as new.

Thanks! :fonz: Just ordered some.

Whoa awesome, hope to see some more pics once they arrive. Looks like a great pattern and last.  AE should bring it back and also make a dover PTB simialr to Alden with that pattern.

Also, I googled the store the guy got the shoes from and they are going out of business and are having 40%-80% off, looks like only available for shopping in store though so anyone in the Chicago area should go check it out. Altman's Shoes

Hate to "bump" my own post, but I just wanted to see if anyone else had any insight here.

Yes. Altman's has been in that location for quite a long time (I want to say 50+ years but I'm not certain) and I know they have a huge stock room. However, they have been steadily deepening their discounts since sometime in September, so there isn't a whole ton left. The good thing is as of last week they had all AE's discounted 40%. They close at the end of the year, so I expect that to go up soon.
