I'm new to the shoebank. How good is the current the 20% off virtual tent sale? A quick search in the thread suggests that they sometimes have 2 for 250 sales? I'm kinda interested in Mora 2.0 and Bleeker Street if it helps.
While we are at it, how should I size AE last 8 shoes? I have only a pair of Park Avenue (5 Last) in 9E and the fit is great. The SA at AE store measured my feet on the Brannock device and told me my feet are 9.5 but slightly on the wide side of D. My normal shoe size is 9.5D.
Thanks.

They look great man. There are quite a few boxes in the background, what are they?

2 for 250 is long gone, the new price is 2 for 300 which only applies to closed out models. I highly doubt that the Mora 2.0 or Bleecker st will be closed out anytime soon. The price on the Bleecker is pretty good now, even better than RDA price last month

These were the first pair of AEs I ever bought.  They are what AE used to sell as the San Marco, on the 2 last (same as Eagle County and Norwich).  Plenty of sizes left in both colors.  I'm not sure why they never seemed to catch on with a wider audience, but I guess BB's loss is potentially your gain!

Tempting

just a bunch of items that I need to sell including a bautiful 12.5 Broadstreet in Walnut/Bone that was my dream shoe for a while and never could get in my size...I took a shot with the 12.5 when I found one but it is was too tight. Have held on to it for a year as I hate to let it go.

Thoughts on the Odenwald? Anyone seen them in person and anyone know how they fit. i find myself drawn to the black version.

Got me thinking about some pretty good sales we've seen along the way. 2 for $250 was good! Didn't they also use to have a 2 for $200? $299 shell seconds from last year was great (I think I ended up with 5 pairs from that one). I'm not sure anyone remembers this but a few years ago there was a few hours that AE accidentally marked some shell shoes on their website down to $250. I was lucky enough to grab a pair of shell Bradleys (which I'm wearing today). That was great because they were first quality and AE honored the mistake. When walnut shell came out around Christmas a few years ago as a webgem they were discounted. I think I got the walnut shell daltons for $595. They are now over $700 and walnut shell is long gone. I also think the truffle shell was discounted when it was offered as a web gem but I don't remember what I paid for my Dundees.

Those look fantastic, Watch; my Navys are going back, so I'm thinking about getting the brown grain instead... Or both!

Burgundy Shell Kenilworths today. These were too tight in the right foot, but some wearing and serious stretching has made them quite comfortable:

I really like the brown grain EC's being posted.  Looks awesome!

I received my burgundy shell Daltons (firsts) today and . . . sigh. . . the medallion is off-center on the right shoe and the eyelets uneven.  It's a small thing, but since I bought these to replace a pair of burgundy shell longwings with the exact same problem, I think they're going back.  They are otherwise pristine, so I guess this is a PSA that there is likely a 12D headed to the shoe bank soon.

Of the options available, I liked the black best in person.  I tried them on and they fit TTS when comparing them to the 5-65 last and the 511.  The black CXL is great in person and should age well.

Totally agree on the EC. It is definitely their best dress boot to my eye - even though they initially made it up as a country boot. These MTOs have all been spectacular. If only it was on a different last than the 2....

That is disappointing for a first. Glad you're sending them back. They waste so much shell with their poor QC sometimes.

Thanks for the input. They are $187 for seconds right now. Very tempting.

BB also has what appears to be the brown Lexington (not entirely sure) for $149 in select sizes.  It says made in the USA.
