My guess is it's a typo..unless you confirmed it actually is 44th. That store is a hole in the wall. Maybe they want to draw some Alden customers over from around the corner?

These were the first pair of AEs I ever bought.  They are what AE used to sell as the San Marco, on the 2 last (same as Eagle County and Norwich).  Plenty of sizes left in both colors.  I'm not sure why they never seemed to catch on with a wider audience, but I guess BB's loss is potentially your gain!

Nice find, I wonder if there are any 15% off codes out there to make it even better. The 2 last I think might have caused some of the negative reviews. I've got some Gridirons on the 511 so these might just be to redundant, unless they could be gotten under 100. Then I'd probably fold.

How does the 2 last compare to the 5 last/ 8 last/ 1 last?

It's definitely the 44th street store. I just confirmed with Nelson over there.

Weird. I agree then. it seems odd.

I just picked up a pair of Alden captoe bluchers and Peal and Co (AS) Chelsea Boots for like $330 total. Insane.

I go the same size in all four, but I may be an outlier.

If you have a good relationship with your SA, you might be able to stack.  I could probably get mine to give me the 15% corporate discount even on top of the 70% clearance.  For that, I would think about picking these up in the black to go with my brown . . . but unfortunately mine is one of the few sizes they appear to be out of in that color.

Yes - I saw them last week when I picked up my oxblood Strands.  It's a burnished finishing and the best way to describe it is dark cherry.   I really love the color - and the burnishing really gives it character.

I sized the Eagle County(2 last right?) same as my 5 last bal's 12eee...fit is perfect for me. The 511 last I wear a 13e..Dalton, Bayfield, Leed, Townley. The 8 last 13e gets me the best fit so far..not perfect by any means this is a last that a 12.5 E would be perfect for me.

Just notice that shell price has gone down a bit today on the Shoebank. The price is 399 compared to 420 a few days ago

It's probably because mine are new. They only have four or five wears on them and about a week's worth of brushing. It's going to be interesting to see how they age going forward.
Have you started buying shell yet? That's when it got dangerous for me. I only have three pairs, but I'm addicted. I think I want a pair of shell MacNeil or maybe Leeds next, but I haven't given up on the black PAs that escaped me during the last shell seconds sale. I might source a first-quality pair of those as I'd like to expand my black shoe options.
Great info as I have no specific experience with either shoe.

Given the generous width of the Cambridge, at least in my personal experience, he likely does have a decent shot at a similar fit, but you're right in that it's ultimately still a guessing game. Best of luck for a one-shot fitment, Josh!

So, AE made the decision for me. The Cambridges I wanted were already gone, so I went with the shell MACNEILS. Should have them Tuesday or Wednesday. Will post pics. Thanks to all for the advice.

Thanks for the heads up!  I just picked up a pair of brown suede Peal and Co wingtips for $119.  Crazy deal!
