I second this. James is the man and will get all my business going forward. I never feel like a burden there, and he has been extremely patient with me as a new AE customer.

On the subject of burnishing, how do yall care for your bourbon shoes? I don't like the idea of homogenizing the depth of the burnishing with the bourbon polish.

+3.  It's been about two years since I visited Boston and the State Street store but James was everything you would want in someone helping you with your footwear selection.  I would go out of my way to give him my business.

I don't own any Bob's chili yet, but looking at examples on-line I would probably use some black wax on the toe and chili polish on the rest of the shoe. I don't see a problem with using a brown if you don't want the shoes to get any redder; bear in mind the simple rule that using darker polish will make your shoes darker - lighter polish won't change their color noticeably. In other words, brown polish might bring out the browns in the shoe more, but chili polish will only make the red deeper, not brighter.

Speaking of burnishing, polishing, and new colors, is the new oxblood a "real" color ie tanned that way at the factory OR is it something like AE bourbon, which as I understand it, is simply walnut with special (and temporary) burnishing?

I have Strands in walnut and Addison in tan already so that color may be already covered for me....I just really like the walnut!!! But maybe some bourbon for variety??

Walnut Dalton is on the way from the Shoe Bank, with 20% off!!

Hey guys appreciate your experience on the fit if 1 lasted chukkas vs 1 lasted boots? Does the style and lacing of the Dundee affect the fit vs a 1 lasted boot or blucher?

hey all

Looking for my 2nd AE pickup (own the tan Cronmoks right now and it's become my daily office wear!!).

Looking for a semi-casual boots for winter/fall. I'd also like to pair either of these with a t-shirt/shorts occasionally. Do yall think that'd look too out of place or doable? I currently wear my Cole Haan moc toe boat shoes with shorts/shirt.

Can't decide between the blue Chukkamok or the brown Rothsay ....

Thanks!

Not really, the Dundee fits similar to the Daltons and the GridIron I just picked up. However as mentioned before, the Long Branch is much looser fitting than any other 511 lasted boots. I also don't have my Bayfields or Townleys yet to compare frown.gif However I'm assuming those will fit the same.

Feeling a bit blue after yesterday's election returns. Good thing I've got these BLUE babies to cheer me up!

Congrats to everyone whose men/women were on the winning side of our great exercise in democracy. I do love this country of ours! smile.gif

Welcome! Can not wait to see pics of them...

oh and for the record....I hate everyone with a shoe size 10 and under as essentially every shoe ever made is available at the shoe bank! Bastards! us clown footed people get limited choices...Discrimination I say!

So, I just moved . . . and one of the benefits of my new place is that I can treat one of the bedrooms as essentially a giant closet.  This finally allows me to comfortably rack and display my entire shoe collection.  Since a few people have wondered how someone can have a 80+-pair collection of shoes, I thought I'd take some photos - and since roughly half of the pairs are AE this seemed like a good place to post them:

I guess I should also mention that five pairs that I'm trying to sell aren't included in these shots.
