#8 shell Macneils for me today.  I saw these pop up on the ShoeBank site just before the RDA sale ended, so I snapped them up pronto.  Can't beat $325 for these, and they fit great.  This last must work well with the shape of my foot.

Great score . . . and always a good sartorial choice!  :fonz:

Someone wanted to see my Leeds post HDLP treatment. Wearing them today, they have a nice soft sheen now but will likely not shine up any more than pictured until some of the oils for the HDLP subside.

they look nice. Did the hdlp make them redder (and not just darker)? I remember noting they were more dark tan than red at the end of your experiment

Just a bit darker, red really comes out in the natural light but the HDLP didn't make it more red.

Just got my first pair of Allen Edmonds today (CXL Long Branches). Do I need to treat them with anything before I start wearing them around the house for a break-in process? The fit is pretty good, a little loose, but I think that's mostly due to wearing thinner dress socks today.

Here's a lousy quick shot I took after discovering them on my front step when I came home from lunch. Please ignore the clashing color choice of socks with the red laces. The socks are coordinated with the outfit I already had on. Red laces were already on, but it came with brown as well. I'm actually thinking about possibly going with some yellow laces instead. Not sure, yet.

Congrats and wear in good health...nothing clashes with the Long Branch they go with everything! Especially rain, snow and mud! I just use some AE leather lotion on my CXL but I really have no idea if that does anything or not.

As I currently only have lined shoes on the 5 last, can anyone comment on if they size unlined (neumok especially) shoes a width down?

But their hideousness is what makes them special.  I ordered a pair last year and got compliments every time I wore them.  Can't wait to pull them out in a month or so !!

Oh no !!!   Not in a boot.  Yuck.

Forget what I said earlier.

It's funny, the JBMs have been a guilty pleasure of mine since I saw them last year and have been trying to convince the misses to give in on them for the past month and she tells me she likes the Santa Moks better.

Still not sure which I like more, but I will say one thing, I wish she always signed off on the more expensive shoe.

I was passing by a local menswear store, well pretty much on a weekly basis. The carlyle is a very beautiful shoe in person. Man pics really don't do this thing justice

Nice score, I see I wasn't the only one to find a shell gem in the closing days. Brown Shell Strands popped up two days before the sale ended in my size.

I just used Leather lotion on mine, done it twice now but will likely get some HDLP before the winter/snow hits now that I'm commuting by train.

What local store is stocking inventory that quickly? Harry Rosen?
