That's what I feared. I looked online and they only carry D widths in store.

Anyone know of some AE retail partners in either Portland or Seattle?

l-r:  merlot calf, Bob's Chili, burgundy shell

IRL, I would say Bob's Chili is closest to chili grain.

Thanks to your pictures I just ordered that chili strand - thanks buddy!!!!

Anyway my foot measures length wise on the right foot  a shade under 12 and the left a shade over 12.5 my right foot is wider than my left and both measure closer to D than E...yet when measured with the arch thingy on the device my size is a 13 D

So longer story made short I wear everything from 12E and 12EEE to 13D and 13E... and even though 12.5 would be best for me and they do not have that much I can still get a great fit among many different lasts.

I don't want to tell you your shoe size, but according to what you've reported your actual size is a 13 at least in length for that foot. The heel to ball measurement is the one that matters in terms of correct fit. The distance between the ball and where your toes end is of little consequence. If your toes were to be cut off at the second joint you would still wear the same shoe size. So you actually wear a full size less in the #5 last and depending on the width, can go up a little.

Ok guys. Could use a little advice here and I know its likely the wrong spot but it's the one I know the best. However I'm getting married next week and debating shoe choices. The suit is a dark charcoal. Really not much lighter than a black I have. I planned on some brown Harrison's but got out the PAs just to compare.

I do cast a bit of a shadow over the pants leg but overall a good representation.

Just the Harrison's.

For shits and giggles the Jeffersons.

What are y'all's thoughts on the options?

That is what the SA said also so you are spot on....I feel 12.5 would be a better fit as a compromise between my two feet for many lasts..but you are 100% correct right and thanks forbthe explanation.

When I get fitted for sneakers at the running shop...I dont run mind you but love running sneaks for walking the dog...they always put me in a 13 too.

I always think oxblood looks best with charcoal.

But for a wedding? In a church?

Black shoes.

I don't wear black shoes very often, but I think they're appropriate here. And they look sharp with the charcoal slacks.

If you want to, change between functions and wear the brown Harrisons to the reception.

I vote for the harrisons. They appear to fit nearly perfect, while the 5 last shoes have some minor gape. Also I like the chisel toe of the harrison, and find that a better formal (non-work) shoe. the color looks fine on my screen, but maybe it;s actually lighter irl.

Agreed. I understand the urge to wear something different but the black PAs look great in that picture and they fit the occasion.

Black shoes.

I do have some burgundy shell Dundees I could try with them. Just hadn't really pictured it.

It's an outdoor afternoon ceremony so figured I could take a few liberties on some things. I haven't polished the Harrison's yet so they could get darker. Plus they're super comfy.

It is a delima though. Is the brown to egregious for a wedding or is the black just the better pick of the two?

Thanks for the feedback. The color is a dark brown. I tried to get the pics as close to as real. The Harrison is a great fit. The PA was my first and as usual a mis-sized 65 last. It's a bit long. My other 11.5D Jefferson has a bit of a wider gap too but fits well other than that. I also had a little thicker than normal sock. I have to wear thin ones with the 11.5D 5 last as the 11.5E is a bit to loose in the heel.

There is a black Harrison at the shoe bank in my size I could try and trade in the brown ones. Then sell the PAs since the fit is slightly off. Was thinking about that anyways.

I'll get my shirt in tomorrow so can put the whole ensemble together and see how it looks.

I would vote for the black Harrison since it fits the occasion and seems like you're happy with the fit. If the wallet allows and the future wife is ok with, maybe get the black Harrison and sell the PA. Maybe Earl will be able to hook you up with a special price smile.gif good luck brother

Go with the black PA's, and put a nice wax shine on them. And congrats!
