The LB still uses Vibram soles, but they're thicker Gumlite soles rather than their Commando ones, I believe.

Others have tanked. I'm a huge believer that you don't get better skiing unless you occasionally take a fall. There are a few shoes I'd like to take back, and there are others I thought wouldn't make it that have. What one AE Man finds too far out there can attract a whole new customer. Our current Strandmok with it's ChromeXL leather and Dainite sole got huge criticism on StyleForum, and it's one of our bestselling introductions for this fall. As the Germans used to tell me -- Um Geschmack laesst sich nicht streiten (there's no arguing about taste)"

Also, I asked about the Independence Line and how it's changing going forward and actually got a response!

Very cool to see Paul interacting with the community.
Ha! I got a little chuckle, as that was directed partly at me.

If any of you fine gents are an 11D, PM me for some potentially great deals. I don't sell on eBay and don't particularly want to make a B&S listing, but have learned that a great deal does not make the wrong size right.

I can agree with this statement. My LB and Daltons fit totally different. Only thick socks for the LB.

I really like this MacGregor and will eventually get a pair; but to me, the Larchmonts are really unappealing. I think it's the squared toe that give the Larchmont a cheap-shoe-trying-to-look-expensive look. Wait, did you say necessary? :lookaround:

Woa. Just discovered the mobile version of the site. Even with the iPhone 6 the full site required some zooming and panning. Much nicer. Been under w rock apparently.

I've read that the Neumok fit slightly bigger than other shoes on the 5 last. Would it be safe to size down at least half a size than my normal size in the 5 last?

It is unligned but not sure it is a full size difference - I have the navy(13e), olive(13e) and and tan suede(12eee)  and would size them same as my other 65 lasted shoes...sadly I can not comment on half sizes though as they are not available for my size.

The Navy and Olive I bought before nailing my 65 last properly and will probably replace them with the proper fitting 12eee. I would say they are more forgiving though.

Burgundy Cordovan Randolph is 325 as is the patriot shell version.

Yes, the new soles are Vibram gumlite and are thicker and softer than the older Commando version.

Bumping this- boots are tight with the orthotics inserts, should I leave them in when breaking these in?

I would think that they will take longer to settle the cork bed with the Orthotic in as it will disperse pressure...I would probably wear them without.
