Stunning, now I'm convinced. The dark brown color looks much better in the natural light. Thanks a lot for the photo.

Any idea which color I should get for a similar effect as this?  They're just some cheapie Stanfords where black shoe creme was used but I love the color and depth.

I wore my Chocolate Daltons the other day and immediately could tell that I was wearing out the toe of the sole. I literally could see the leather of the sole as I looked down at the toe of the boot.

Should I get taps on the toe right now or wait until I've worn them more? I've heard it both ways.

Thanks!

Just ordered a pair of burgundy shell Daltons.  How is AE running on delivering shell MTO's?  Is the eight weeks' estimate accurate?

Deleted - the post I was commenting on referred to a price increase on seconds, not firsts, so what I wrote wasn't relevant.

It's been a few months since my last shell MTO, but IIRC mine were more like 3-4 weeks rather than eight weeks.  Of course, they may be getting a spike in orders due to RDA which could lengthen the turnaround times.

I bought my first pair of Allen Edmonds - black Park Avenues - last week from Nordstrom, and they arrived today. I

noticed that the heels on both shoes had a dent. Is this normal?

Yes, they notch the heels so they won't catch on the cuffs of your trousers while walking.

Ah, I didn't even refer to it properly, so I wouldn't have known what to search for (notch vs. dent). Thanks!
