I use the AE spray waterproofer. Others swear by tarrago nano. I've not seen any complaints about either.

I have used the nano spray on mine but none are older than a year ao not sure of any long term issues. They have received a spray late spring and just again last week.

So far no issues

Will post a picture later but just opened my seconds black shaker heights...everything looks beautiful leather wise and sole wise...tongues were in straight...the biggest thing I was pissed off about was they did not come in a boot box....but a regular sized one. Then I spotted it....the tweed on one panel is stiched in with the pattern at a 45 degree angle instead of up and down....lol

What is even more odd is that I am not sure how much it bothers me...probably will send them back ....but then again...

Oh. Just call her if you're concerned. My guess is that you will get yours soon. They're not going to not take your money smile.gif

I think id keep it, especially if you got a good price. The black ones are rare. And kinda awesome.

So you were the guy I was shaking my fist at when I discovered one day that the 13D was gone?!

@peppercorn78, he needs to return them. That's too much of defect to keep.

I was just curious to know if invoices roll out in one batch or order by order; I hadn't received anything from Allison, so was interested to see if maybe yours was just the first of a series or if I'd missed something in my inbox. Not sure about the intrigue comment, though. None was intended. I think Kahuna's post gave a little clarity.

Nothing here yet. I still haven't provided payment details, either. I've been emailing and/or calling daily but haven't gotten a response, or caught her at her desk.

Also, FWIW, my SA suggested I order a half size longer and keep the width on the EC - for anyone wondering about sizing. I'm normally a 10.5 eee, so that would be an 11 eee!

Ha! I'm sorry, it was my own misunderstanding. I read it as if you had received some message from Allison about the order that I didn't get. Like maybe there was some drama or problem with the order.

That's all.

The variable, however, would be what a factory does to shell in their own finishing room....that can change how a product works. It would be worth asking A/E if they are spraying, maybe? I understood they were using a lot of spray finishing now, instead of traditional finishing, so a shell that's been sprayed will have a different reaction to any sort of after-care than another factory who doesn't.

Hopefully not too off-topic...

Thanks for chiming in. Any idea why this is such a hotly debated topic? Has no one asked Saphir? It seems like both sides of the argument are positive the other side is wrong, though I'm not sure which side has presented proof. If I may, what makes you so sure? Is it true for both the Médaille D'Or (MDO) and Beauté Du Cuir (BDC) Renovateur? Actually, what's the difference, anyway?

That aside, do you agree Venetian Shoe Cream has turpentine in it? Does Saphir MDO Cordovan Cream?

Hmm. I tried on a 10.5 3e Williams in Riverhead and it seemed ok, maybe just a tad narrow. Maybe I'll try again just to double check.

I'm an 8.5D in Strand (5-65) and 9D in Dalton (1-511), and I settled on an 8.5E in the Eagle County. 8.5D may've worked, not sure about 9D, and 9E was definitely too large.

I had the same reaction. I've been waiting for a Macneil5 in burgundy with dainite soles to show up on shoe bank, but I might just go for the Bob's Chili MacGregor during the RDA sale.
