Got an email this morning saying my Leeds are done recrafting.  I am told the uppers look darker in the finished pic only because of lighting and they did not touch the uppers as I requested, either way I think it turned out fantastic.

What do you guys think?

The outsole does not look that worn. Why was recrafting necessary?

Looks like the poster wanted a topy.

Wanting a natural welt and commando/mini-lug sole.

Overall I could not be more satisfied with this boot at its super-low closeout price. I love the look, and they are extremely comfortable.[/quote]

Okay, this is officially my next purchase. How would you size the 73 last? I'm a 9D in the 1 last and 8.5D in the 5 last. Thanks.

I am a 13E for my Dalton(1 last) and 13D for Shaker Heights

Epaulet has a few pairs (http://epauletnewyork.com/).  I don't own any Epaulet clothes but a number of posters in this thread seem to wear nothing else nowadays!  There's an Epaulet thread too if you want reviews, size suggestions, etc.

Thanks have browsed their site many times wishing to buy but I have more of a keg than a 6 pack...so pants that max out at size 36 waist..well unless we go back to 1992...I got no shot!..I do see they can do a special order though.

I won the recrafting package from AE on Instagram but my collection is only around 1.5 years old I had no shoes actually needing a recrafting. I decided to send in the sun faded Leeds as I was already debating changing to a more casual welt and sole. AE was more than accommodating with all my requests.

The natural edge certainly elevates the shoes. Very nice.

I love them - that is where I hope to take my leeds in the future, however I will be wearing my soles out first...or win a pintrest contes :)...had I been able to get a Chukka in the shell sale they were going to get that exact treatment done.

I still find it terrible that they take lower light shots of the finished product...masks tons of potential flaws and lends to a richness that leads to disappointment upon opening the box. But hey that is just me.

I really prefer those with the lighter welt. Great choice.

@Burzan those look great.  If you win another recraft, send it my way :D I've got some AEs that need it.

PSA, Macy's has the Lake Shore Driver for about 125. Limited sizes, of course.

Lake Shore Driver Smoking shoes??

Also thanks for the temptation. Thats a smoking ( smile.gif ) deal.

EDIT: Gave in and ordered. The Grayson was a better fit in a 12C so I'm assuming these are 12Ds. So we'll see when they show up. Its $100 cheaper than 2nds at the moment.
