Got these in the mail today from @shawnc super smooth transaction. Also picked up Alden #8 wingtip on Barrie from him.

The dark burnished chili (aka Bobs Chili) arrived today from Nordstrom. Very quick arrival - ordered Sunday and arrived Wed. (Iowa to NJ)

They are a gorgeous color. They show a lot of depth in natural light. I have a few pix but none in strong natural light. Pics don't do them justice. Very happy to have found this gem.

Still, I think the strand in walnut is ae's best shoe.

Thanks again for the psa!

Those Chili Strands are really nice looking! Terrific pick-up! Just wish Nordstrom carried an "E" width in that color.

Boots were only available because I was afraid to wear them in the Pgh snow. Of all the shell I own, these were my favorites. They look great on you. Enjoy. And again, thanks for a smooth transaction.

Wear them in good health!  Out of all my AE shoes (~12-15 pairs, I forget at the moment), my tan RL Sandersons are my favorite.

You know, YMMV but I've always been able to get an E from Nordstrom's, even during their anniversary sale for a color that wasn't "officially" part of the sale.  It was simply dropped shipped to me from Wisconsin from AE.

Point being, if AE is making Bob's Chili in E, I'd be very surprised if Nordstrom's wouldn't order you one and make it available at the same price.

Different lasts.  The Sanderson is on the 2 last and the Macgregor is on the 5 last.

Count - really good points you raised there. I'm not sure if AE is making the Bob's Chili Strands available outside of Nordstrom, or the MTO route.

I'm wondering if this one of the JWN exclusives they're doing, along with a limited size run?

As was pointed out by the other poster, the Sanderson is on the 2 last, and the McGregor is on the 5 last.

The Williams, part of the independence collection, is the rough equivalent of the Sanderson. The Williams never came in tan/walnut, though.  Just black and brown.

My shell Cambridges came in today; they look amazing, but I see that the wing and vamp seem to be peeling off slightly. Has anyone else experienced this issue before with their factory seconds and how complicated would it be for the cobbler to fix?

Thanks!
