I received a pair Wolverine 1000 Mile 744 LTD's by AE today. This was my crowning jewel from the shell sale! They are brown shell (Wolverine calls them Mahogany) with W's butyl leather sole and Vibram heel. Marked as seconds but no real obvious defect I can see. Once may have been a show room shoe - few marks and carpet burns on sole while the other is pristine. At $325, these are definitely keepers!!!
WOW I've been looking for a pair for over 2 years. These popped up on the shoe bank site for you? Seriously?? Amazing score for 325 in shell...congrats
I need some help and suggestions. I bought my first pair of AEs, wore them one day, all was good I was happy and I ordered another pair (a shell pair), and wore the first again today... noticed I was getting irritation on the ball joint top/side of big toe ball joint (knuckle). For you science guys (the 1st cuneiform), the top/side of it
So I take off my shoe at the end of the day and I have a nickel size blister ripped open... these shoes murdered me today.. I'm hoping I can stretch it there.. I have never had an issue like this before with any other shoe.. is the leather that stiff initially.
I figure I need to lube this up with something and stretch the hell out of it there.. seriously disappointed..
Hi, Im new to this forum and looking at getting my first pair of AE - a non-leather soled one given I do a lot of walking outdoors and generally wear business casual (chinos, dress pants, button down shirt.. definitely no tie or suit/jacket) at work. Leaning towards a Strandmok given the sole and the dark brown color (I have a lot of gray pants). Question, is the shoe too distressed for what I need to wear it with? Saw from the site that it has this worn in look.
Aside from this, what other show can you guys recommend for a first timer?
My Dalton in walnut shell has arrived! They were sold to me as seconds and the box indicates an 'S' on the model number. However, they came with shoebags and no signs of wear. There are some scratches on the tongues of each boot, but I'm not sure if that is what would make them seconds. To me, they're flawless.
EDIT: They're darker than I expected, closer to bourbon calf, but I'm very much okay with this... also, I understand that shell is easy to maintain. Do I do anything before wearing the first time? I have Venetian cream on the way, should I bother waiting for that? Give it a brushing off?
