FYI - The Strand is available in Chili calf from Nordstrom.  I don't see it available directly from AE.  Might be a special make-up exclusive to Nordstrom.

I got my MTO Mora in Bourbon yesterday, and promptly shipped it back today. Aside from having some specs incorrect, the finishing is pretty awful:

Never seen a Bourbon finished this badly, I'm going to avoid this color for the remake. Bob Chili is looking like an awesome alternative...

The tiger stripe affect from the bourbon burnishing is usually why they become seconds. Bob's Chili sounds really nice, good luck!

what were the full specs of the MTO? looks like a different edge dressing color

Just a brown welt, but they added wheeling and fudging that I didn't want. They can trim the edges tighter with the normal welt, and I prefer that...

Darn, I was hoping to get that pair of 11D Leeds in black shell but looks like it was inventory error baldy[1].gif

PSA: You may want to phone the ShoeBank directly if you are interested in the current shell sale ($325).  The website may not show the current inventory.

I just picked up a 9D Brown Cordovan Norwich which isn't listed online.  ShoeBank said the had "loads" of 'em.

YMMV.  Good luck!

I got a good haul on the shell sale:
Burgundy Daltons
Burgundy Cambridge (wanted MacNeils but not available)
Black Randolphs
Burgundy Dundees

The Daltons are beautiful. The Cambridge & Randolphs are reportly in great shape (I haven't seen them yet). Waiting on word of the condition of the Dundees. I hope they're in good shape as I'd love a pair.

Why are there so many shell Cambridges available? Are they unpopular?

This depresses me to no end. I got nothing!

Holy shell (excuse the pun.)

I didn't see anything listed in my size (9.5D) that interested me (randolph's got too low a vamp and while I love the Patriot if I'm going to have a shell loafer I'm saving up for something in Cigar or the RL Marlow).

There was a 9.5E Burgundy Dalton last I checked. It's a beautiful shoe and if somebody reading this wears that size, please do buy it before I rationalize the purchase as "Well I'd be wearing thick socks anyway..."

PSA - If you want to get in on a GMTO Brown Shell Bayfield, they're trying to get it together right now in the MTO group since the Shell EC group got stuck in the mud. Go over there and sign up!

Very familiar!  I used the "thick socks" justification for a pair of Long Branches during the 2-for sale.  I love the LB's.  I bought Under Armor boot socks to wear with them.  Works great!
