On the balmorals with jeans issue, I think it is easier to get away with when the balmorals are suede, brogued, shell/roughed out leather/CXL or some combination of the above.  When you are talking calfskin captoes (like the Park Avenue or Fifth Avenue), it looks really off.

Very nice.  If I were a size 8.5, I would pm BKostko with an offer to convince him to sell these today.

Fit, to be honest.

It is too snug on D width.

I got rid of my MTO Black shell Daltons as well.

My old brown burnished Kenilworth hasn't seen a single wear since my MTO cappuccino leeds came in this time last year. I dug out these pics of the first good shine when they were new. Gotta say, they looked good! On the marketplace now if anybody's interested.

In the end, the #1 last fits me so damn well. Glad I took advantage of AE MTO when available.

I think we are similar fit. Are you 8D Barrie? I can do an 8.5D in Leeds but for Dundee and Dalton 8E is the better fit for me.

TBH @bk I haven't even worn my 8.5ds yet ryden style. Interested to see what you get for them.

It has a sleeker appearance, but I get more heel slip in the Singleton than the Randdolph. There's also the difference in design features. Full strap vs. partial; tubing on the back of the Singleton; slightly longer vamp on the Singleton. If the Singleton fits you, I think it is the preferable shoe in terms of quality and design. However, I had fit issues with all of the RL shoes. The lace-ups are all on the 2 last, which is very narrow in the toe, and the loafers fit a little larger than the Randolph/Grayson. Finally, I sent the Singletons pictures below back because the toe stitching was really messed up. Far and away the worst defect I've seen on AE 2nds. I ordered a 2nd pair in brown suede later on, and it had the same defect. I kept them, though, because the defect was less noticeable in the dark suede, and I received them for half the price I paid for the tan ones pictured. This leads me to believe that the AE for RL shoes being sold by the shoebank have more significant defects than regular AE shoes. I'm talking about a sample size of two, so I could be wrong though.

Honestly, I don't think those look too bad. I got tan seconds as well with an almost identical defect, and kept them and love them. I doubt anyone else really notices, and it doesn't bother me. Especially for $129 or whatever I paid.
