Shoe trees at JAB going for 3 for $25

I think loafers hate me.

Just tried to Cavanaugh in 4 different sizes and neither one fit. Major heal slippage no matter what.

Any place I can get my hand on snuff Singletons at the moment? Really would love a pair as I like the color on my snuff Slatons and need some suede loafers.

Thinking about purchasing the McTavish in Dublin Cognac leather...

Does anyone have any quality photos of them in action?

Searched through the thread and didn't see much but maybe I missed it.

Thanks for your help.

Also 25% off all AE shoes. Nothing too exciting, although they have the Lamont which is basically a Sanford, on sale for $258.  Not the best deal, but since the Sanford is on clearance at AE and only available in limited sizes, the fact it's available could make the deal for someone. They also have the JAB version of the PA for the same price.  Most styles seem to be available in the full range of sizes and width from 7B through 14EEE (plus 6.5E and 15D).

Can anyone comment on whether to order the JAB shoe trees in Medium or Large for size 10.5 AEs on the 5 last (Kenilworth)? The JAB website recommends going to large starting at size 10.5, but reviews mention these might be big for narrow shoes, and the 5 is a narrow last, so Im wondering which I should go with, since I am seemingly on the border.

After 1 year and change I finally made a perfect cup of coffee in my Chemex today....nothing to do with shoes but thought I would share.

After Four years of very hard wear, my Bass suede chukkas gave up the ghost. Soles started coming unglued and a hole big enough to fit my thumb through developed in the rubber outsole. For the $60 I paid, thought I got decent use out of them and planned to buy another pair. Then I noticed the Mojaves on sale for $97. Arrived today. Can't believe I got these for only $37 more than the Bass glue jobs. I hate to say I'm ever disappointed my higher than expected quality, but one thing I really like about the bass chukkas was that they didn't look particularly nice brand new, so I had no hesitation wearing them in all conditions. I actually liked them much better once the suede started looking a little worn. The suede on the Mojaves, on the other hand, looks pretty nice out of the box. It's gonna be hard to wear these in the rain and snow this winter without feeling guilty.

You can take my approach which I just started an hour ago...put on your newly arrive seconds (black Carlyle for black tie events in my case), start walking around the room trying to figure out if they fit, decide they for ok but could be a tad bit tight, continue to walk around (this time blindly), accidentally kick the bottom of your bed, decide you're keeping them because you just scuffed the toe and you can no longer send them back. It just worked wonders for me.

Enjoy!

I totally slept on the Mojaves, and totally regret it now. Great score.

These trees are the same Woodlore trees sold by AE, branded under JAB. You can use AE's size-fit chart:

FWIW, I use the recommended sizes above in my 5-last shoes and they fit perfectly. That would be the XL tree in the 10.5EEE shoes and L in the 11E shoes (although I've been contemplating moving them all to XL to help loosen the 11E pairs up a bit, width-wise)

Looks like 105.D is right on the border, leaning towards Large. I dont anticipate ever getting narrower shoes than a 5 last in a D, so even if I go C width in a wider last, I should be ok right?

Interesting, so these are basically Amoks with a crepe sole? I havent been wearing my Amoks much, on account of worrying over the suede, but it has held up very well so far. I nuked it with the waterproofing spray that AE sells.
