yummy!

Careful - I wear a 12D and found that they are too tight. I have not tried a 12E yet but will.

Love the shoe btw. I have an older pair that are cobblers leather and are a different shape. To bad they are too beat to recraft.

I also have the Dalton in walnut shell and it is very roomy, there is actually too much room in the heel area. The Cascade is on the #1 last also and is a bit tighter. Bayfields are the tightest boot that I own but fit like a glove, however are closer to a casual boot. The Malevern I could not get to fit at all, it was just too tight in the forefoot and I returned them.

Thanks. The Malvern also didn't work for me, way too tight in the forefoot as you said. To my understanding the North Platte is the same boot as the Dalton, just with a different sole. I suppose I'll try to buy TTS and add insoles if they are too large.

last winter they don't have dark chocolate Dalton in my size. this time around there's no North Platte in my size either. I guess I will have to pay full-price for my Dalton...

Mayfair, Kendall, or Montgomery for black shoes?

I'll be wearing it with: http://www.jcrew.com/mens_category/suiting/allludlowsuits/PRDOVR~28130/28130.jsp in heather charcoal most likely.

Edit: Might actually change to SS suit but answers to the question is still appreciated.

And for casual wear: Lombard, Player Oxford, Parliament (brown colors for all)? I have chinos which are khaki colored and navy chinos.

First hand experience on the Vinci, they are fantastic plain toe blutchers.

Thank you JubeiSpiegel, and of course Ayrton for posting the 2 for $200 sale. At 10 minutes to 8 tonight I ordered the Vinci and Strawfut in brown\brown mesh. He said they should ship out tomorrow. The Vinci are seconds and I told him I had never ordered seconds before and he said if there were any issues just call him and we could work something out.

Received my Jefferson's tonight, what a great shoe!

Nice choices, pics when they arrive.

I'm considering the Randolph and Malvern. Possibly the Modena if I want to go for just loafers. The list seems to be mixed and matched in first & second quality. Is there confirmation on this being the case, or is everything second quality?

There are some threads on colored laces if you do a search.

I feel that patent leather shoes should be worn with a tuxedo only - so I'd say no to the Mayfair or Kendall.  My recommendation is that you go with the Montgomery.  In my experience the Montgomery runs a bit narrow, so you may want to go up a width.

For casual wear, I say go for a suede brown Players.  Plus, it's always good to have a suede shoe in the collection.

I do need to put up some more pics, starting with these Jefferson's. My 5th shoe on the 5 last and am realizing how well that last fits me. The sale is mixed first and seconds. The Strawfut that I ordered are firsts. I requested a list first thing this morning and it was a bit after 5 before I received an email back. They are already pretty busy. He said many of them will go fast, pretty sure they will be swamped tomorrow. I'd call as soon as they open in the morning. Here is what was available in 10D if that helps. Stock numbers (Above shoe name) with a S at the end are seconds, Of course formating is lost sorry about that. On hand is the number below Retail Price on the right-

For those that wanted pics of the North Platte

DSC_0001-23.jpg

I bought a pair of Fairfields on B&S last year, and ever since I've wondered if they are shell or calf. They crease differently, take a shine differently, and they are burgundy. I've googled this and found zip. Is there any way to tell if they are shell in the serial number inside the shoe? How would I know other than contacting AE about it (which I will do if nobody here knows).

Thanks in advance.

This website ( http://issuu.com/allenedmonds ) has all the back issues of Allen Edmonds' catalogs, each of which include the serial number for each shoe. You might have to dig a bit, but you can figure it out from there.

Does your shoe have JR soles? Most if  not all AE Cordovan shoes came with Joh Redenbach soles.

They do have different soles than the standard AS soles. They say made in Italy on them, and "jumbo 9-10" for whatever that's worth...they are pretty faded though. Thanks for the heads up!
