For 67 those are keepers. Get a suede eraser and see if you can get the spots out. I also recommend getting the protected spray for them, you LL be fine all winter

Yeap you're right especially at the price and especially since they'll get dirty regardless a little bit.

I think it suits the last and welt style, but the price is a bit high for anything less than calf. I think it would be a great shoe to show off some of their new calfskin finishing, too. In burnished burgundy?

They really should have made the suede version which you can see here, too:

I agree that this is closer to Leeds than Kenilworth in utility, considering the clunkiness of the last and welt style.

Funny how AE's design team tends to take classic styles that they don't really carry and messing or mixing them up in a way that makes the shoe in question not exactly what the classic style is supposed to be. Like the Height "Chelsea-style" boot.

I just picked up the Strand - Walnut.  Very happy!  This pair have not been wore at all.  However I have somethings I want to ask:

- there are a few places that the threads came out ( in pics below), are those going cause me issues later?  If it does, does re crafting in 2 years or so will fix the problem?

Just wants to see if I need to return or not.

Thanks

Well, I'll make an exception for this one: I don't see it as a bastardized version of the Lobb/St. C. style, but as a chukka boot with a low top. It works for me, in a way none of the weird chelseas have.

Then again, I like that kinda '60s aesthetic the Jomocs play into.

But it does sometimes seem like somebody at AE is trying to justify their title as "shoe designer" by, you know, trying to invent something new, rather than trying to do really well executed versions of the classics. It seems like they're very willing to have a lot of turnover in terms of styles: there's always something new, and there's always something on closeout.

If those are the only marks I'd keep them for certain.  I have the Amoks in snuff suede and they are one of the two most comfortable AEs I own (the snuff suede Neumoks being the other).  I LOVE these shoes - they pair well with all sorts of pants and shoelace colors.

I have them in Snuff as well lol. I'm glad I'm not the only one that loves this shoe. Most of my friends who wear AE aren't fans of them.

I just got my AE shell graysons! Bar none, the best deal I have ever found in any brand for a new shoe biggrin.gif. I really don't know how you can do any better than $200 for shell. Just got to figure out how I'm going to go about caring for it and if I'm going to use reno on it before the first wear or never at all.

They do not have them in every size, but they have them in 15D and several others for $127.  Their prices in more popular sizes may be a bit higher.

Those are minor. I would keep if those are the only issues.

Im sure its been covered, but does the Bourbon polish function well to keep the tone of the Bourbon leather? I know it is essentially walnut buffed on a black wheel, Im wondering how well the Bourbon specific polish works?
