Thanks for the feedback, yeah, actually the Dainite is what's attracting me to them. I want something I don't mind walking for a while on wet streets on. Client lunches etc.

Well, the Brookfield (Wisconsin) store didn't honor the 199 price on the cordovan graysons, so I bailed. Which is just as well. I have too many shoes.

Came across these Shaker Heights look a like on brooks brothers web site. I like this newer brown color they are using, the tartan inset is interesting...

A $498, they're $100 more then the shaker heights. hmmmm

They really need to make more shoes using suede.

I'm also quite glad that they didnt name it Cavanaughmok or something like that. I for one think that its better for AE to use the same names for their shoes as long as the patterns and lasts used are the same, regardless if it uses a different upper, welt style/color, sole, lined/unlined etc.

Question :
What are you guys using on walnut cordovan? I have a couple fresh scuffs on my walnut cordovan strands and am thinking the neutral wax from saphir won't be enough. I am thinking I need color wax/cream?

I just use Saphir Reno and Cordo Cream. I use a deer bone and a lot of brushing on scuffs. Usually does a magical job...

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

At that price point for calfskin AE's, your getting into cost areas that could certainly warrant other options outside of AE...

All that said, I wish these boots hovered around the 300-325 price.

Will probably purchase a pair of the Cavanaugh loafers in walnut this fall. I prefer it over the Kenwood as I am not a fan of the Kenwood's contrast stitching. Wonder how soon they will show up on a 2nd's list...

Any fit experience in the Paxton loafer?

Just got a killer deal on a pair, but was wondering how the instep was? I'm hoping it's more spacious than the patriot...

I just purchased a pair of bourbon daltons from the shoe bank.  This being my first pair of nice shoes and assuming I'll keep them, what did you do to prep your shoes?  I've been searching the threads regarding shoe creams, polishes, etc. but some of these threads are so active, it's hard to find what you're looking for.  Anyhow,  AE suggested in one of their Q&As to use the walnut polish since the bourbon polish they sell online is a closeout, made for a version of the bourbon color they no longer produce.  Your (or anyone's) thoughts?
