They're here! After many weeks of waiting, my walnut/cappuccino shell Sheltons and walnut shell MacNeils are here!
The variations in shell color amuse me. All three of the below are walnut shell, but they are three very distinct colors. Is the MacNeil what one might consider ravello? It's very red.
Truly gorgeous. Now I'm slightly regretting not taking Paul up on his MTO offer.
It's your lucky day--as of last week AE said Paul's offer is still open for SF members and they're letting me do a second order this week.

Hey all, I just bought some shoe trees for my new shoes and I am worried if they are going to stretch my shoes. Do the shoe trees look to big or are they fine?

It's really not possible to answer your question based on the pictures. What I see looks completely normal, but that doesn't mean the trees are the correct size. Hopefully you used a size chart when selecting your trees, and if so, I'm sure they are fine.

Absolutely gorgeous. Those Sheltons are truely remarkable.

And I just pulled the trigger on another pair of Fifth Streets, this time in walnut from the tent sale.

Walnut Fifth Street?! I didnt think they made that shoe in walnut. Were they a cancelled MTO?

The reason I ask is because I am thinking of ordering from Paul an MTO Walnut Fifth Street very soon.

I know it was mentioned before, but I don't see anything "jaw dropping" that I need to pick up at the TENT SALE.

I was thinking of the Fastball maybe, but that's not something I "need"...but it'll look cool all baseball season.

I wish they made a "hockey" version...maybe out of leather that looked like old goalie pads ;-) (Go Hawks!)

Hey Guys,

In your opinion is it worth the extra $130 to jump from the McAllister to the Jefferson? Looking solely at the difference in leather and the lambskin lining.

I am thinking of a MTO Fifth Street Boot in Walnut and was quoted just the difference in cost between the two types of leather and the lining.

Give me some feedback!!

Thank you.

Just ordered the brown Kenilworths from the tent sale. Fingers crossed they don't have problems I can't live without!

Hi guys. I posted this as a separate thread but I think it might get a little more attention in here. I just have a quick question.

I just bought my first pair of AE's online and when they arrived, I noticed they had some pretty obvious imperfections in the leather. I sent them back for a new pair and the replacements have similar issues, to a lesser extent. Can you guys tell me if these scuffs would buff out with some polish, or should I try exchanging them again? I feel like I might be making a big deal out of nothing but I have little to no experience with nice shoes so I don't really know what's acceptable when it comes to markings like these.

If you have the tools (polish, brush and cloth) try buffing them out. I had a pair come right out the box with similar markings and all I needed to do is give them some attention.

Trying it out, worse thing is you send them back again.

My Park Aves would get more beat up than that just under my desk at work. They'll buff out without little trouble I'd say.

Do you guys think shoe trees are necessary even for amoks? I ask because my trees are size large and the amok is a narrow shoe, Im afraid the tree will stretch the thin, unlined suede. Since the shoe is deconstructed as it is, does it really need a shoe tree?
