The two big annual ones are the Anniversary Sale in April and the Rediscover America Sale in October (Columbus Day). There are also random specials throughout the year, like introductory prices on new models, or $50 off boots, etc.

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is coming up and that's a big one for staples like Strand, Park Ave, and McAllister.

Outlets will have more frequent sales. I think the next big one should be either Labor Day or in tandem w the RDA retail sale in October. Last year the outlets did $100 off independence line 2nds around the 4th of July, so maybe something will happen this weekend...

Is anyone using a saphir polish for AE bourbon shoes?

I've mixed together the light brown (walnut) and dark brown cream polishes to get a bourbon. I haven't tried the medium brown cream or wax on them though.

The medium brown is a little too dark.  I tried the cognac, which roughly seems fine, but injects more red into the picture than I want.  Was curious what others are doing.

I am using the AE Bourbon polish..have not used it much at all so can not say what long term effect it will have but after a few uses it seems ok

Thanks. For some reason I'm not a fan of long wings. Will probably grow on me at some point.

I've used the old mixture of AE Bourbon polish and it seems perfect to me - I don't know how the new formulation would be any different (but I understand that it technically is different).

So what's the consensus on polish for walnut calf? Does the walnut polish really turn them orange?

I was looking to pick up a bourbon manistee belt. I know nordstroms has their anniversary sale soon but when looking at their website, it doesn't look like they carry the bourbon? Or am I mistaken? Can this only be bought at the AE store?

The shoe already has an orange tint.  The walnut polish does, however, exacerbate the orangeness over time.  Some like to experiment with other colors to mute the orange tints.  Saphir cognac and light brown are the two colors most frequently used.  I find cognac too dark for AE's walnut color, so it must be used in moderation.  I suspect another solution would be to use Renomat to restore the original color.

Thanks. I don't want them any more orange than they already are. I saw a few pages back that some use Chili polish on Walnut. I'm worried that might add too much red. I'm thinking a light to medium brown would be best. Or maybe just something neutral.

This probably isn't what you're looking for, but here are my Strands, w/o flash and with. About 3 yrs old. Felt they were two light, so have polished almost exclusively with dark brown, either AE cream, or Kiwi wax, since I bought them. Recently I very lightly burnished the toes with just a bit of bIack. I like the way they've turned out so far...

They look great, would you mind sharing how you burnished the toes with black polish?

@pudman43 looks exactly like how I want my walnut mcallisters to turn out eventually.
