Allen Edmonds Appreciation Thread - reviews, pictures, sizing, etc... - Page 2969

I am about to buy a pair of Allen Edmonds shoes online.

any ideas how to pick the correct size?

Herring (619 last) UK9 and Meermin (Olfe) UK9 are perfectly fine to me.

Am i correct to pick US9.5D AE shoes?

I used the interactive guide. The guide is completely non-sense. It shows me that i should pick US11D AE shoes.

I dont think i should trust this guide..

We won't be able to help much until we know what last you are looking at.

Now I'm as ginger as a Scotsman when I take them out...

Was it able to be repaired?

Some of my trees are a bit tight so its hard to get some compression before pulling them out. I also grab my the heel, then try to compress the tree as much as possible before pulling it out.

Walnut McAllisters with light grey. I like the walnut / grey combination.

Yes, my local dry cleaner (who patches leather upholstery) fixed it. Can barely tell now.

The Fullerton is a fascinating shoe - six-eyelet bal but on the 1 last, which I believe makes it unique.  Strangely, it doesn't show up on the website when you filter the "all" list by the 1, which is often how I look for shoes (the 1 last being my favorite).

And, as kmdsimpson suggested, it could be the "one shoe to rule them all."  Split-reverse or flat welt . . . shell, smooth or grain calf . . . any color . . . maybe even a Strand medallion.  So many different looks possible here.

(I just noticed that this MTO version only has five eyelets.  Blaster, how did you pull that off?  It's not in your specs.)

Shoes that normally have six eyelets only have five eyelets when ordered with metal grommets.  It was the same with my MTO McAllisters.

Not sure why you would want to mirror shine these shoes. It could possibly be done but these are pretty casual. As far as the process it's not easy to mirror shine any pair of shoes. I spent over 4 years in the Marine Corps perfecting the mirror shine process and it's still not easy.

You probably did not have the print setting to 100% or "Actual" when you printed the guide...it is in your printer settings - First time I printed it I was like a size 15

Brown cordovan Dundee today, it wasn't even on my radar as something I wanted until a SA during the $299 sale a few months back mentioned they had it in my size. I decided to pull the trigger and it has since become one of my fav models.

Love the Dundee's, I got some Burgundy ones for 299 as well. Also hadn't really considered them either. Now just on the look out for some brown ones!
