Well sure, of course. Although I can't find anyone here putting it quite that way.

For the record, I only occasionally have call to wear CBD. I just wouldn't personally ever wear walnut shoes with dark navy suits, even outside of a CBD work environment. I don't care for the pairing.

I wear walnut with navy often. I also wore black with navy yesterday. To hell with the rules.

Sadly, this is in the CBD doctrine and also your opinion.

There, I said it.

My ex-wife used to say I looked like a bruise when I tried to do that.

My American cousins give me grief over it. I understand it's more appropriate in the UK?

I know you've got this image of your self as the rebel without a cause shaking things up in (what you think) is the stodgy SF environment, but you seem to be trying to pick a fight where none exists.  I gave no opinoin on the subject of navy/walnut pairings and merely corrected your gross exaggeration of the reason most people cite as why they do not like the navy/walnut look.

As to your statement above, fortunately I do not find anything sad.  I do, however, find it pretty amusing that you think anything other than walnut with navy is CBD.  :rotflmao:

Out of curiosity, is there anyone who regularly posts in this thread that has strong negative feelings about wearing navy with walnut?  While I can think of posters in other threads, I can't think of anyone in this thread that cares enough to criticize another poster wearing this combo.

Not to fan any flames, but that first picture of the Leeds might push me to favor them (for the first time) over the Alden PTB. I think I prefer the sleeker shape of the Leeds. Wish they had the Alden color 8 dye. Maybe I can strip the Leeds and apply Alden's paste wax?

Even stock, they're too good to pass up. I'm hunting down a pair.

How does the 97 compare to the 65? I'm a 7.5EE/EEE in the 65 and 7.5D in Barrie; I measure 8E, have a high instep, wide foot, slightly narrow heel.

Any ideas on my 97 last sizing?
