(l to r:  brown shell MacNeil in 9 E, chili grain BB MacNeil in 9.5 E, cognac CXL MacNeil 5 in 9.5 E)

I've held both the natural and navy CXL Alden LWBs in my hands and can confirm they have serious heft and solidity as compared to even the MacNeil in shell.  However, in terms of sleekness, I think the BB MacNeil and the MacNeil 5 are actually fairly close to each other.  While I wouldn't choose the MacNeil 5 over the regular MacNeil, at least for the time being I'm happy to have both.

Would really appreciate a side by side picture comparing Alden lwb and McNeil 5. Anyone? Thanks.

New loafer on the site.  The Lowry Hill.  Seems like it's at a pretty good price point for a fully re-craftable handsewn.

How have people been sizing the suede Mojave chukka? Have the reviews for it been positive?

Basically a more formal Nashua with a leather sole...

They're both on same last (114) and both recraftable, except the Nashua is only $195 whereas the Lowry Hill is $275. The Lowry Hill is definitely more formal though.

Maybe one can MTO a Nashua using calf leather and voila... a cheaper Lowry Hill

I just received a pair of Mora 2.0s and had a question. These are my first monk straps so I don't really have any experience with them. I noticed one shoe the elastic on both buckles is more loose than the other(doesn't feel as secure). Is this okay in the long run or should they both have the same elasticity? I feel over time the elastic may come loose anyways? Or should I exchange them?

Here is a picture of my mojaves in olive suede. This picture really brings out the green, but under most lighting the color is a mossy greenish brown. It actually looks great. This is my first pair of AEs so I can't compare the sizing with their other lasts, but I went with a size 7, which is the same size I take in Loake 026 and Carmina Rain (6UK). I feel like I could have possibly sized down by half, but if I scoot my foot up even a little bit, my toes feel a little tight under the toe cap. I think if anything, they might be slightly too wide for me or maybe I'm just not used to the feeling of unlined suede.

In any case, I love the shoes.

Interesting, thanks. So you went with a 7D? What is your Brannock size?

Despite my numerous pairs of shoes, I've never been measured on a Brannock device, which I know is strange... I guess I should do that sometime in the near future. With these mojaves, I just kind of rolled the dice and ordered in my usual size: 7D.

I should also point out that I have a low instep so that's probably a major contributing factor into why I feel like I could have possibly sized down on these. Now that I think about it, an insole would probably be helpful for me.

I get the sense I'm not being too helpful haha. Sorry about that.

I was actually wondering if AE had some olive suede.

A Leeds MTO to replicate this Carmina would be awesome. I am now also curious as to why AE does not source the, what looks to be, brown Dainite.

Your size for loake and Carmina (UK) is the same size for your AE (US) sized shoes?

What?

I should have clarified: I'm a size 6UK in the Loake 026 and Carmina rain so appropriately, I"m a size 7US in these AE shoes.

I edited my original post to include this info.
