I wear a 8.5E in the Allen Edmonds 5-65 last and 9D in the AE 1-511 last and 9E in the AE 2-222 last.
Do you think a UK8 in the Rain last would fit me well?

Thank you.

Yes. 8E/8.5D on 1-511 and 7.5UK on Rain for me

this is pretty unlikely, you've gone down 2 widths and up .5 length

Does AE have an EE width?

That would be something I jump on with zero hesitation.

For most lasts, yes. Usually have to have them made, but it would be considered standard stock even if they had to make you a pair.

I think the 5 last is the only one that you could get a EE width from stock rather than having it made. But it would only be likely in models like the PA and FA.

My MTO Strands were in 11EE.

Why not black I wonder?...because I was gonna get a pair in black since I dont wear a lot of suits/formal wear

I just think black seems a little too formal for business casual. But really, nothing wrong with it if you like it. Brown seems to be the most versatile to me; but in the end, get what you like. The shoe itself is fine!

so are you saying that something I said was inaccurate? Or are you confirming that the strand is available in EE through MTO but not carried as stock by AE?

There are models that are stock that need to be made up. I think this is the case with most of the odd sizes.

MTO is for something unique that is not in the standard design (color, soles, leather, etc etc).

I understand what you are saying but it really isn't correct. I was using MTO in the general sense of the word, that the shoe is not in stock and thus is made once the customer orders it. This is by definition what it means. The issue we are discussing is whether or not you can go into an AE store or order a shoe online in a EE width without AE having to make the shoe.

The first part is what I was getting at. AE doesn't readily carry EE in stock typically, but is usually an option that can be ordered via their website or in store without additional fees.
