Is the McAllister in Brown a new color for that model? I feel like it has just popped up within the last month...

I'm about to have my AE Hanover send in this week. Any previous experiences from you folks about this budget whole-cut? And am I gonna get a second factory quality shoe if I bought it amidst a clearance period?

What colour?

i am thinking of getting a pair of whole-cut oxford too (either AE Hanover bourbon or Herring Chaucer II Burgundy)

the price of AE Hanover is lower but i like Burgundy shoes more...

any thoughts?

I'm getting a pair of black (my first AE btw). And I'll run some Saphir on it.

Your shoes looks like some kind of semi-bespoke form-fitting shoe. Nice choice. Made in United Kingdom?

What I'm so afraid is the horrible reports of guys having encountered second factory shoes. I was not intended to wait for the discount, but I was too eager to wait any longer.

Very cool socks and beautiful color shoes

If you're buying from the AE web site, you should not receive seconds. If you do , send then back for a replacement. Seconds are only sold through AE factory outlet stores and Nordstrom Rack.

Clearance shoes are not second quality. They are firsts. No worries there.

What's the consensus on this?

I think you can do better for a new shoe.

They feel incredibly comfortable out of the box, and the construction seems pretty damn solid too. Seeing as my Alden 1494's were 5 times the price, I think I'll try to find some more of these!

Interestingly, I take a 13D in both the MacNeil and Dundee and got these in 13E. To be honest I could probably use a 13EE - they really are quite narrow.

Color on these is awesome! Nice score.

They do look quite comfortable ... but agree that something wider would be in order for your next pair.

Thank you very much! Now I can sleep alright and wait for the shoes to arrive!
