Got my snuff Amok's (from the clearance event in Feb) on Saturday and they're great. Really a very good deal for $100. They feel incredibly comfortable out of the box, and the construction seems pretty damn solid too. Seeing as my Alden 1494's were 5 times the price, I think I'll try to find some more of these!

Interestingly, I take a 13D in both the MacNeil and Dundee and got these in 13E. To be honest I could probably use a 13EE - they really are quite narrow.

What's the consensus on this?

That looks normal. The issue is that they sometimes crease in front of the cap toe.

Is a crease above the toe cap terrible? Just got a pair of Clifton seconds with light crease above toe cap. Was going to keep them, but haven't worn them yet....

It bothers some people. The area from the cap toe to the toe should be purely decorative and have harder leather than the rest of the toe area so as to not be a crease point. If it doesn't bother you, don't worry about it.

I've had the Broadstreet for a long time, but the old 3 last just doesn't agree with my foot.  Just took advantage of the sale to have a McAllister made up to look just like a black/white Broadstreet.  All of the comfort of the 5 last with the snazziness of the Broadstreet's color scheme!

I think this is the best AE color comparison picture :)

Chili, Brown, Burgundy, Bourbon, Black, Walnut

They are a lot smarter than Clark's in my opinion. I could easily wear these in my office, whereas I think Clark's are pretty sloppy and not office material.

The $100 amok is a tough deal to beat by any metric.

I wasnt sure about my Amok at first because of fit but theyve broken in really nicely and they really are a steal at 100$
