  • Comfort insole (the one that is standard on the Shaker Heights).
  • Mini-lug rubber tap sole.
  • Brown regular welt.
  • Dark brown transparent edging.
  • Blind eyelets.
  • Tone-on- stitching throughout.

This concludes my AE bender.  I now resume my regularly scheduled life--but I'll be back with pictures in a couple of months.

As promised, here are the pics.  They neglected to do the tongue in suede, but I am very happy with the results nevertheless.

Those look VERY NICE, indeed, WICaniac; great MTO makeup.

I would've been worried about getting lace lines in the suede tongue, myself... You might've gotten a favor from Allison, albeit unintentional. That look is worth replicating - thanks for the inspiration.

Recieved my replacement for my Ridgeways purchased in the 2 for 250 sale. Decided on the Elgin and am very pleased so far. Thanks to those who recommended against the brown distressed mctavish for a bus casual I think this will fit the bill nicely. Defects are minimal and this was a great buy for 125. Since these are the Brooks version I was expecting a v tread sole but that's not the case. They are the standard leather.

Which one is the true "Walnut" Color? Why are some so redish while others so yellow? (some are also bourbon like)

Photo filters. IRL walnut is pretty much tan like the bottom pic.

Does chili fit the color of the 1st picture? or is chili more red than that?

The top one is closer to chili. Walnut is slightly darker than the bottom picture, but not by much.

Anyone have pictures of the Strand in brown cordovan with a suit?

I wish AE would use more Chromexcel leathers and Dainite soles. I see some models use these materials now.

The only thing so far I dislike about AE is the factory polish; it seems overdone, especially black shoes. You can smell it, too.

Last try.

Sorry for any bother.

Do any of you recognize this AE style?

Thanks.
