I just picked up a pair of Patriots in Horween Football leather for $144.50. Not a bad deal at all...

I should also mention they have Island Slippers for $39.95 - A STEAL!

Where'd you get that slipper deal, Tampa?

Brown shoes? out of all my AE shoes I have Long Branch boot, Strawfut, Suede Strand, Shelton in Brown/walnut in brown makeup.

Any reason to add a pure brown shoe? I am not in any type of business setting that needs it -  chili, walnut & burbon's make up my brown tones-

Is there one particular shoe that just looks dynamite in brown?

I think light brown/tan/snuff penny loafers look amazing. I'm in half a mind to switch one of my pairs for the RL penny's. Penny loafer fit is such a bitch though.

I guess there's little to no risk for me since i can return directly to a brick and mortar AE store. I absolutely ADORE tan penny's with navy pants or even a navy suit.

How do you guys size penny's relative to PA's? I'm rather flat footed so I guess I might have to use a heel insert if I get the same 8.5 size I wear in PAs.

How about the Amok's? I've heard they tend to run pretty narrow.
Thanks.

Hey guys, I would love your assistance.  I have the McTavish in natural wax leather (4035) and really like them.  Having said that, could anyone compare the color of these to natural chromexcel?  I'm considering getting some Alden natural xcl longwings, but I'm wondering if the color of these would be too similar to my natural wax McTavish.  Thanks in advance!

Wearing my McTavish now and they are night and day different from the AE Rush Streets which are golden chromexcel-  My McTavish Natural Wax are similar to Walnut -  so that being said I have nothing of use to offer.....

I think finish between the two shoes regardless of color is plenty to differ the two.

No, that's helpful and makes sense.  I think they would be different enough: different finish, balmoral vs blucher, shortwing vs longwing, etc.  I just needed some confirmation.  :fonz:

AE MacNeil in Dublin Tan leather--a make up for Freeman's Sporting Club--for a casual outing tonight. I really dig this version of the MacNeil.

Does the 5-last lose some of its sleekness when you go from a 9.5D to a 9E?

My understanding is that both shoes will have the same width.

I'd guess so, given that loses a bit of length and essentially becomes a bit rounder.

Will anyone notice? Probably not.

Cincikid ^^^^^

Look great.  If I'm not mistaken, those are first cousins - if not identical - to the "Gramercy," one of the three special makeups AE did for Urban ... whatever their last name is, in late summer/fall of 2012.  It was a LWB on the 7 last, just like all MacNeils, and made up in Dublin leather like your Freeman's are.

I tried to grab a pair last week but was a little too late for the last one in my size.  I wish they still made it.  They have McTavish clones in Dublin but they are on the 5 last, IIRC.

I can take this, since I just got the Strand in 9.5E. I don't think there's any noticeable loss in sleekness, but even if there is, it is surely offset by an increase in comfort.
