AE should definitely bring back shoe socks! By the way, can shoes really bend like that? (toward the end of the video).

That was hilarious. Xray inspection -- so 1940s! They actually did this in many shoe stores with your foot in the shoe itself. Crazy.

But I would definitely buy those rough brown shoes at about 6:40 (on the pressure lasting). AE, bring those back!

Many of the procedures are the same, there are some recent videos that show modern procedures and what seem to be many of the same machines.

Does anyone have any experience with boarhide? Is this good quality leather?

Everyone needs a red pants day once in a while.

I have a pair of red-almost-purple corduroys and never had any clue what shoes to pair them with until today. I and my black shell Leeds are grateful for the inspiration!

I'm wearing the navy suede strands that I'm probably going to return at my desk today. All carpeted floors means I can get a feel for how they feel on my feet for an afternoon.

I've had them on for an hour and they feel fine. Egad, indecision.

Weybridge.

its better in walnut, but they didn't have my size. They don't make this version any  more but they make a version on a different last, in pebbled black leather as a golf shoe. I think for $50, they'll do a custom sole for you. If they did that in bourbon, I'd order a pair.

Allen-Edmonds MTO McWhatevers.  I thought they were McAllisters, but in the MTO thread, someone thought that they were McTavishes, so I have decided to call them McGillicuddys (Lucy Ricardo's maiden name).

They are Horween English Tan Dublin Leather with brass eyelets and black Dainite soles......

I don't think  you can ask for much better from seconds, honestly. They look fine to me.
