Got a tracking notice that these were being held at a FedEx facility because of a wrongly entered zip code:

The Pine River in brown distressed.
Just a handsome, substantial shoe; not heavy... Rugged. Casual. The burnish is sick. Glad I copped it. Double monk to boot.

Looks an awful lot like the AE Sanford, which is otherwise basically extinct.  Anyone own a pair?  What last is it on?  TTS fit?  Does JAB ever discount them?

Ask them for a corporate discount card and that should get you 20% off anything that doesn't normally go on sale.

I picked up the pine rivers as well. Not my typical choice but I figured for the price it wouldn't be much of a risk.

How do the fit? Can you snap a pic with a pair of jeans on? no cuff.

I ordered the Bayfield and the Strawfut both where listed as firsts with no S in the part number. Will the shoebank mark them? Will I getting lucky and get bags?

Thanks

You got firsts 2 for 250? How?

This shoe has never gotten the credit it deserves to me...very nice shoe...ive always wanted a pair...specifically in the dublin cognac leather..very ruggedly handsome combo...the color seems virtually indistinguishable from AE chili to my eye. Seems like it could really augment a casual/business casual outfit quite well

It all comes down to reading the chart they send you.  If the part number in the list does not have an S at the end of then they are firsts.  Another member in this thread made mention of this and I looked carefully through the list when I was looking for part numbers that did not have an S.  Did I also mention that I have small feet? 7D

There are a few 2nds Amok available now in my size.  The price is $100 so it's hard to beat. Still deciding if I should get them since warm weather is just around the corner (hopefully-although the east coast doomed for another big storm next week).

I think they're ideal for warmer weather, spring, some summer, fall. I certainly wouldn't wear them when it's really cold out, or any snow or rain. They're unlined and the suede is pretty thin and breathable. People wear them without socks too during the summer. $100 is pretty hard to beat, as they were originally in the $200s.

I am usually not a fan of tassel loafer but those are pretty damn slick

I wonder how they'd look if one simply cut off the entire tassle and the attachment.

Anyone here wear the Manistee belt with brogues? I'm thinking about just getting plain belts just on case I have two shoes in the same color but one isn't a brogue? Thoughts?

I have the walnut mantisee and would recommend just getting the plain belt as it is more versatile. I now have a belt that only works with 2 pairs of shoes.

I got 11.5E; that's what I wear in 5 last. I actually love the comfortable fit out of the box. I have no fit complaints that a thicker sock (wearing thin socks now) insert wouldn't fix. They're on the last hole straps wise, but they're secure. Poron insole and dainite make for pleasant gait. A friend at my house said "I like how your shoes SOUND" when I walked by... That was a new compliment altogether... Hello, Dainite! I'll toss up a jean pic shortly.

I've worn my bourbon and walnut manistees with non brogued shoes; looked fine, heard no complaints or suggestions to the contrary...

BIT-J, I had just bought a small bundle of firewood, stopped by Fed Ex and snatched them out the box for a quick inspection. Decided to send a couple pics to AE thread because the burnish looked almost bourbon like. Have em on now though! B-)
