Thank you for the good press, gentlemen. It is great to be so well received.

Thank you, Darkside. I try not to flood with truly redundant photos, but sometimes I cannot decide which I like more and use both. It can get tiring for some.

As for AE's Bourbon color, sometimes I go into the closet, turn on the light, and stare at them. I laugh because it sounds so stupid, but it's true.

No doubt, but I'm glad to have those "gateway Allen Edmonds" as wet weather options for when I do not want to wear a leather sole - Especially with the rainy season coming up.

Btw, I love the JLC avatar.

"watchidiot" huh? Me too. I just got finished browsing the watch thread and looking at the heavy hitter PPs. So nice.

The walnut shells are 11.5D.

As for being "done" there isn't a single member on here who hasn't uttered those words . . . before coming home with new shells a week later!

Truly my fear. This Thursday the store is having a "Two for $250" sale on select factory seconds, and I think it might be a good time to grab some penny loafers. And then some shell Park Aves.

The next problem will be upgrading the rest of my wardrobe to warrant the new footwear, but at this point I'm hooked. I'm going for the shoes first and if I have to wear clothing made from stitched books of food stamps, so be it.

Allen Edmonds should fire their current website photographer and hire you.  I'm dead serious.  There's a reason why SF is full of shoe fit pics: website shoe pictures suck (doesn't matter if it's AE, Alden, C&J, whoever).

I'll bet if AE replaced their current Bourbon Strand pics with the two I quoted, sales of that makeup would increase 20% minimum overnight.

Thank you so much. I have to admit that I was unprepared for how commanding the Bourbon color is in person - I love the calf Walnut color, but the depth of the Bourbon color sold me at once.

You should, since your influence is directly responsible for them. I was wondering if I'd find you here.

Hi all! Im currently thinking of doing a spectator in suede and calf. Im thinking snuff suede with bourbon or snuff suede with chili. I was wondering if anybody can share side by side photos shoes in  snuff suede with shoes in bourbon and/or snuff suede with chili.

Question....is the butyl sole supposed to be water resistant and anti slip?

This makes me want to go home and marvel at my bourbon Daltons. Walnut is more flashy but bourbon is just more versatile IMO. +1 for the question about the double butyl sole. Anyone know what that actually entails?

Cross post from the MTO thread.

My forth MTO, submitted today. Hopefully done in a month or two.

"Strand" Semi-Brogue Balmoral
-BROWN CORDOVAN
-INDEPENDENCE LINING LEATHER & INSOLE
-CHILI WELT
-WHEELING AND FUDGING
-INDEPENDENCE OUTSOLE AND HEEL
-MEDIUM BROWN TRANSPARENT EDGE DRESSING

Anyone have a pic of Medium Brown Transparent Edging? I am trying to get as close to the Alden Antique edging (pictured in the spoiler) as possible.

Intrigued to see how this turns out. I do love those cigar lwbs of yours. You guys are slowly changing my thoughts on all walnuts and to add in a bourbon or brown shoe or too haha

Unfortunately, according to their description they are toasted edges and not medium brown transparent. I got light brown transparent on my MTO Jeffersons.

Thank you. Definitely check the MTO thread. I will post a bunch up there when I receive them. I may cross post a few here also.

This is a little ironic, but I actually came here after seeing the pictures of the bourbon strands CMT1 posted ^ after browsing Allen Edmond pictures on instagram....

Probably the sexiest shoe I've ever seen.  I'm now convinced that if able to find for the right price, i'm purchasing bourbon strands.

couple quick questions; Should i expect the color of my pair to look identical CMT1's? Or was that particular pair blessed by the AE gods? (lol)

Also, how does the versatility of the bourbon color compare to walnut? Versatility is a must for this purchase

thanks

One more, is the 2 for $250 seconds sale confirmed?

BTW CMT, the only "flaw" (subjective) in your photos is the lacing on your shoes. May I suggest you try straight-lacing them? You may find the look to be cleaner, especially on a shoe as detailed as the strand.

This isn't AE but it is probably close to snuff/chili:

Hey super quick question guys. Anyone had any experience order online then exchange for different size in store later? Is it easy process?

Thanks to everyone who posted on treating the Long Branch Waxy Brown boots - I have all of the supplies in house to do the treatment from AE Leather Lotion, AE Conditioner Cleaner, Obenauf Heavy Duty, Aussie Balm and Neatsfoot oil(really got this to soften a stiff leather jacket)... So now my original plan was to use the Obenauf HDLP but upon reading up on Waxy Leather a bit tonight it seems I am finding suggestions of waxy leather cream to to waxy leather polish to colored wax.

AE's FAQ goes from saddle soap to leather lotion to dark brown polish to walnut polish to using swims with them if you are concerned with waterproofing...

My main concern is preserving the color as close as possible and the whole point of Waxy Leather.... I think I will start with AE Leather lotion and wait a few days to do anything else. No plans to wear these out in the mud so I think the Otter brand of wax is overkill. Just want to be able to wear them out in the rain to get to my car and into my office without fear of them getting all water stained.
