I just picked up some AE walnut Nathans from the shoe bank for a great price, looked them over and see nothing other than some scuffing on the sole bottom.

I'm wondering if you all think I should just clean, condition and shine them up, or go for any sort of burnishing for them.  I'm thinking I'd put a very nice shine on the toe cap either way

There was a picture of a beautiful pair of strands that looked modified a few pages back that seemed to start as walnut with the toe cap and lacing area darkened towards brown or chili...they were beautiful.

On another note, how do you guys feel about a danite sole on a semi-formal shoe such as a oxford punched captoe. I believe this is only available through MTO right? Would that style be contradictory?

Funny I was just thinking of mto'ing a strand with dainite sold but more formal upper than the rush street. Keep us posted.

Should have bought 12 and used the coupon code "RMNTEN" for additional $10 off making them $7.66/each

shopdiscover gets you another 5% off as well

Found the info on another forum, I personally like split toe trees plus JOS doesn't ship most things to Canada.

Interesting.  I looked quick a few pages back and didn't see anything.  But basically you're saying they went light to dark from toe to heel?  Almost the opposite of what I had in mind.

I'm picking up a few.

Thanks for the heads up!  What size should I get for size 9.5D?  Is medium the right size?

Never mind, didn't see the sizing right above the sizing chart link.

Maiden voyage in the new Long Branch's from the sale. First's too!

Like them so much may have to get the waxy brown.

Jealous of the Bourbon Daltons, I was wanting some but the only ones he found had a big cut on them. So he said he'd put me on the list for some. He also dangled some Burg shell Dundee's in my face (well email) that I'm contemplating.

Can't wait to see it in flesh.

When did you place it?

Started out pure walnut, this is after ~2 years of purposeful shines behind it.

Started on this addictive journey to build my collection of Allen Edmonds shoes almost a year back. Thanks to my buddy for introducing me to them and to all active posters on this forum for the knowledge I have gained during the course. Here is a picture of my family of shoes!

From left to right: Black Neumora, Walnut Flatiron, Brown Neumora, Bourbon Nordstrom Fort Collins, Merlot Franciscan, Walnut Strand, Brown Parkway and Brown Long Branch in the back.

Thanks again to this thread!

I bought that particular shoe a month ago and now I'm in love with the traction that the danite sole provides, subsequently influencing me to consider MTOing a more formal shoe such as the Fifth Avenes for more semi-formal business wear during the weekdays in the office.

I think a Macneil with a dainite sole would be a great addition to any wardrobe.
