TIA.

I wear 9.5 D in AE 65 last (Strands, PAvs, FAs) and Saunders in 9D fit me best.  They are slightly tighter around the toe box but should loosen up with over time

What do you guys think about Allen Edmonds offering of custom neumoks for $199? What last do these run? I normally wear 9.5 EEE with my Strand and Park Avenues. Not sure what size to get in this.

These have pretty minor defects, some spotting or marking on the toe of the shoe that's not really noticeable unless you're looking for them. Also, no seconds stamp on the sole.

I also ordered some of these in the sale but haven't received them yet. I'm on the fence like you about how they will work out for me but wanted to take the chance at that price. I guess we will see...

I have a pair and like them.  However, although I'm a 9.5 E in both the 1 and 5 lasts, that size didn't work as well for me in the 2 last.  I could wear them for a few hours at a time (which is generally OK by me) but longer than that was problematic.  I just made the decision this week to have them stretched in the toe.  I'll report back as to how that worked out.

BTW, the brown calf Norwich are gorgeous - the burnishing is to die for.

The Neumok is a comfortable shoe and if you want an interesting makeup the price and turnaround time are hard to beat.  It's the same last as PA and Strand and sticking with my normal 5 last size in mine has worked well for me.

I'm pretty sure the AE store SAs work at least partly on commission.  Does anyone happen to know if the managers do too, and/or what the commission structure is?

I recognize this is not shoe related, but Roots just released a collection of Horween leather bags.  Figure there's a ton of Horween fans on here so thought I'd share.

Nice bags, but I hate when they don't tell us specifically which Horween leather it is.  There's only about 40 different kinds . . . .

On the website they are clearance priced at $277 for firsts at the moment (I paid $199 for seconds). Anyone remember what they were going for retail firsts before they went on clearance? Love these!

Did you get these prior to the current seconds sale? My clearance list shows them being $199, no discount?

My wife loves these in brown, may end up getting them but not at $199.

I'm not usually a fan of shoes that aren't all leather but these look awesome. What model are they?

I sold my brown calf Norwich. Long story, but basically I ended up with a half size larger than i needed and I sold them because they were too big. I've put them on and off about 4 times now and every time I do I think about keeping them. I told myself I was going to pick between this and the Rutledge I got, but choosing is so hard! I might go with the default SF answer of "keep both".

As an aside, I think keeping pairs that you're not sure about is always a good strategy.  Put them on your rack, wait a month or two (or three), and if you haven't worn them during that time you can probably get along without them and can send them back then.

Second quality shells go on sale for $299 twice a year. Are there any annual or semi-annual deals for first quality shells? Thanks.

I MTOed this w a dainite sole and no other alterations through Allison and have been waiting 9 weeks.

Kind of unusual that just a sole replacement would take so long, since there were plenty of uppers in my size in stock when I ordered it.

But yes, I've been waiting (im)patiently for mine, and am very jealous of yours!! wink.gif

These come standard with the v-tread sole so that's cool. I've been eyeing them for a while but didn't want to pay $395 but figured for half price...

Yes, current sale. I don't think they were one of the models with an added discount however they were listed as "Closeout". They were $395 when they were new and are going for $277 now, but only a few sizes are left. So, I figured for $199 (half price and these are flawless), what the heck. I guess if they are going for $277 new at the moment and $199 for seconds, that's a 28% discount. Is that normal for a closeout? I guess I look at it like it was $200 (half price) for a nice boot that is flawless where there was only one left anywhere in my size was something I was comfortable with.

Sooooooooo i just got back from the Philly AE store, yes walked through the many inches of snow, and can now report that 5 of my 10 pairs of AEs are likely the wrong size. On the 5 last I have been buying 11.5Ds but once they broke in they were too loose, well I confirmed that I should be buying 11D instead.

This is quite a bummer but I guess its good to know now before I continue my shoe shopping. The SA gave me some tongue pads to help take up some room in the shoe, lets see how that works.
