A closer view of the broguing:

I wouldn't take those at any price.

I went ahead and got them and I'll see what they look like once I get them in. If I think I can work on them then I'll keep them but if not I'll just send them out.

in person, the lining is much more visible and I just can't stand it...

is this considered defect?

Can anyone share their thoughts on my photo ~ ? thankss

Don't like the look of the adelaide or wingtip and LWB? What do you like? Haha. Personally I think the Rutledge is one of AE's most handsome shoes. To each his own though.

I think those would be hard to cover up with polish. I'd return.

Agree with Teal (as usual) and Ryden, return those for sure

Yes, it is a defect and I'm guessing this is why these are seconds if you didn't see anything else wrong with the shoes.  I'm no expert but it looks like the leather were stretched during production, you can try lotion/conditioner to see if it gets better.  Are they BB FAs or regular AE FAs?  If they are BB, for the price you paid, that issue would not bother me at all.  However, we all have our own tolerance.  If it'd bother you everytime you look down, exchange them for a different pair.

Funnily enough, I had something similar on my Brooks Walnuth 5th Ave Seconds that I bought almost a year ago. Much less noticeable, though. With time, polish has covered it up a bit too. Yours are worse though, as I said.

Oh I agree that the Rutledge is one of AE's most handsome shoes, no doubting that. After trying it on, I just didn't like the way it looked. Like I mentioned in my previous post, I think I liked how it looked better on others haha. BTW is adelaide the style of the Rutledge? I never saw that term before. As for what I like, I'm mostly into cap toes/pct (PA, strands, fifth ave, few alden ones I see posted). I'm impartial to PTBs and not a fan of NST and learning towards not a fan of wingtips/LWB/SWB. It's no biggie. I guess next one my list of AEs would be the walnut strands, bourbon/chili strands, and perhaps the rush streets.

Pastor, do a black shell Harrison. It is an a awesome shoe and the black shell is amazing on them.

I think we think too much alike, since we both also have Cap Jeffersons.

Yes, I believe the Rutledge is an adelaide. I just picked up a pair, but the defect is a bump in the cap toe and an indent on the other. These are probably going back. Maybe I'll make a trip out to long Island to the actual store.

Just got my shell Norwich. I got my brannock size like my other 2 last shoes. The heel is a little loose but the toe box feels great. My calf ones are a little tight in the toe box, but she'll is a better fit. I'm a 9D on the brannock but a 8.5E on the 5 last. 9D on the 3 and 1 last. Hope that helps!

I love the Rutledge as well, but fear that it will probably be one of those shoes I like the look of but are awkward on me.

I would return both of those personally.
