Love these! ... This is almost exactly like an idea I was toying with in my mind for a pair of McClains (but I was also thinking for McClains to have a third, lighter shade of suede in the middle for a subtle tri-tone spectator like one I had seen earlier in this thread)

Had it been an 8E I would have been pushing people over to get to my phone haha. I was just thinking how it sucked I got into shoes too late and missed out on the lighter shell offerings.

McAllister is walnut shell would have been my MTO back a few years ago. Did anyone ever get a pair made and have pics of such a shoe?

This shell-hound just got off the phone with Gillian (sp?), assistant manager of the State Street store in Boston.  She's going to grab them for me and send them along, and I should have them in hand by the middle of next week.  I may have to shave my big toes down a little to fit into them but I'm gonna give them a shot.

Thanks to anrobit for the heads-up!

No problem! Enjoy them! I just can't stand to see a nice shoe wither away on a shelf

Give me a shout if they don't work out for you. I've been looking for walnut shell strands in just that size for a while now and missed anrobit's post! biggrin.gif

Can anyone comment on AE touch screen gloves or their merino wool scarves?

It was a one of those "right place at the right time" days. I was at my local menswear / shoe store and the AE rep was there with the new Spring 2014 shoes and the preliminary Fall 2014 shoes. There are some great shoes coming in the Fall - suede, boots, loafers, etc. Lots of good stuff. He stated it's guaranteed they will all make actual production, but I bet most of them make it.

And I think I found my next purchase - the Rush Street. They look good on the website and they look better in person. He had a pair and I am going to have my local store order some in my size.

Here are the Rush Streets.

If you can't bear to shave your toes, let me know. I might try to grow them a half size to fit :)

The Rush Street is awesome.  I too saw it in person the other day.  The golden brown CXL is just a beautiful color.  I may have to try to make room on my rack for a pair.

I ordered a pair of burgundy shell daltons during this most recent seconds sale, but I'm not sure if the defect is acceptable. There is a significant defect in the shell itself, and I wanted to get your opinions on the severity of the issue. On the right boot, along the upper outer eyelets and along some of the mouth, there is a rough and scaly patch that is very distinct from the rest of the shell. It seems almost as though the finish of the shell is breaking down. The upper is much more flexible there as well compared to the rest of the boot. I am concerned whether this will affect the longevity of the boot, given the location of the defect is in a high stress area, with additional friction from the laces. Picture attached. Thanks for the input.

I have had this issue on occasion.  I have found that a deer bone and renovator work wonders.

When is the next (predicted) seconds sale likely to come up? ie a $99 on close outs, or 2 for $250 or the like...

Cheers

I saw those too, cxl version of strands right? They'd be okay wearing strictly with jeans?
