the could work depending on what you wear with it... the walnut color works... not sure if the kenilworths are a bit on the formal side though... spiaggia would look great... try on the pants with the different shoes and the tops you plan to wear with those jeans and see which ones look good. Ultimately, if you feel they look good, then they will.

+1

  1. They're black, not brown.
  2. They have the normal heel and sole, not the JR heel and sole.

They're definitely shell.  Since we have a theme of shoes in the wrong color, here they are:

What do you think - should I keep them?  I really wanted brown.

If they have a brown still I'd swap them out. However, those look pretty sexy as is.

Sorry to sound like a broken record, but . . . both.    Although it's a shame these don't have the JR sole.

Don't want to speculate anything but i feel like the leather was much superior than the AE model.  My Fifth Aves don't crease as much as the Strands or Park Aves that I have, I wonder if they have better lining.

Here is a shot of them with about 20 wears.

Very nice!  How did you size those in relation to you Brannock size?

thanks. I saw some great combinations.

I am planning the Sapienza dress loafer; leather for the wingtip and foxing, suede for the vamp/tongue and quarters. I am planning something that can go with jacket & tie occasions (not suits) for summer and 3L events & internships/clerkships in SW Fla (a rather informal legal market).

Left to right: AE snuff neumok, AE bourbon mcallister, RL slaton bitter chocolate, AE kenilworth bourbon, RL sanderson bitter chocolate.

Neumok and McAllister (flash):

The snuff suede looks pretty close. The tan of my Strandmok is too light (although … tan/bourbon could make for an interesting spectator combination in another pair), and I can't think of any suede shade between snuff and tan. I would like any noticeable difference between the leather & suede to err on the side of the suede being lighter than the leather, but think that snuff/bourbon is going to be the best available option to combine.

A bit of Kiwi and elbow grease to the PAs today while watching the Olympics.  I'm not giving up on these old dogs.

Great pics!

I love the snuff suede Neumoks, need to MTO a pair soon.

Question about sizing, how is work do your RL shoes size compare to the 565 last?

So a show of cordovan magic.  First up we have a pair of Patriots that got caught in an unexpected downpour.  I brushed them as soon as I took them off, then left them to dry.  They welted pretty heavily:

Some reno and elbow grease later:

Next up a pair of heavily-bloomed shell Cambridges.  I don't know why, but these are my worst-blooming shoes:

More reno and elbow grease:

Then my shell 744s.  Every time I wear them, I scuff them:

More reno and elbow grease:

The veridict?  I should buy more reno.  I'm almost out.

Yes, I really like the suede Neumoks and have them in both sand and snuff.

I find that there are differences in the fit of all the 5 last shoes I have: 9.5d Mcallister and Strands in calf and shell fit perfectly while 9.5d suede Strands are a bit tighter in the toe box and 9.5d suede Neumoks are slightly long and also a bit snug in the toes. 9.5d Kenilworths in calf and shell are definitely roomier in both length and width by comparison but not to the extent that I'd go down to a 9d as I did with a pair of Mctavishes.

My 9.5d RLs fit similarly to the suede Strands: length is perfect but slightly tight in the toes.

The variations between all (ex Mctavish) are small enough that they are likely due to differences in leathers and perhaps the soles.

Hey everyone. I've a quick question about fit.

If I'm a 10.5D in Allen Edmond Park Avenues, do you think the fit would would crossover to a pair of Leeds?

The Park Avenues are on the 5-65 last while the Leeds use the 1-511 last

Can anyone chime in on this? I'd greatly appreciate it.

I finally bought the navy Neumoks I've been wanting.  They're one of those shoes that I really wanted but couldn't actually bring myself to buy (cause, you know, navy Neumoks), but I was picking up some polish today and the SA mentioned that the outlet had them on sale.  So of course I called up and they told me they were 149 and well, they're on the way.  I usually try not to buy things I can't possibly think of how to pair with other clothes, but sometimes you know, it just happens.

Here are my Navy Neumok's and Burgundy Shell MacNeil's I snagged during the seconds sale.. Neumok's look great other than a bit dry it appears; MacNeil's look great but appear to just have one shoe with eyelet misaligned..

Sorry for crappy phone pics (with flash)
