what last is that? Yeah, it's a very unique shoe, and unique is something I tend to go for.

The rule of thumb I have read for fitting the AE 5 last is Brannock size minus a size and maybe plus a width.

Does "a size" in that rule of thumb mean 1/2 size or one whole size?   If I am a Brannock size 8.5, does that mean I should try an 8 on the 5 last or does that mean I should be trying a 7.5?   In my mind "a" = 1.

If one is an E width, then up a width would be EE.  AE doesn't seem to regularly make EE width shoes outside of some in the MTO program.   Do Brannock E folks buy EEE shoes on the 5 last or just skip shoes made on that last all together?

I actually did get fit one one model of 5 last shoe in an AE store then ordered another model in the same size in the current sale.

They didn't fit. :(

My first AE: Mora 2.0 :D

I like them so much! but i'm just a bit disappointed because of the creases on the toe caps!

Is that normal in this kind of shoes?

Before that i owned just oxfords, and the creases were always before the cap...

Do you think i made a size mistake?

I'd call or email them now since it's going on now

Did anyone decide to do a MTO on the Black Hills? Seems like a solid PTB on the 5 last and is only $147

I am thinking of inquiring to get one made in natural chromexcel for the spring.

I had a bit of an issue with buffing some park aves yesterday. I think there was too much "excess/old" polish on my cloth and it looked like instead of buffing and shining, the cloth put on some polish and dulled it down. I'll probably use some renomat and start over on the toes. But it got me thinking that I needed some new cloths just for buffing and I should just get one per color (dark, walnut, black), but then it hit me that I could just use my shoe bags for buffing. Any reason not to do that? Soft flannel material right?

Natural Chromexcel leather

Brass eyelets with the top three speed hooks

Tone on tone stitching

Double leather sole toasted edge

Brown regular welt

Blue calf lining (for fun)

The best part about it all is price. It's going to be a difficult 10 week wait.

These sound killer!  However, I would call back and change to one or two speed hooks.  The boot isn't quite tall enough for three, IMO.

I want to get the 5th Aves in brown. What's the best deal for these? I don't mind the BB version, either. I seem to remember that all BB shoes were $150 or $125. Is that the best deal?

Good point. I just said three because I was looking at the 1000 mile boot. They look pretty similar in height although I haven't seen them compared directly.

Should be cool. I would probably opt for natural welt and tan stitching but either will look great

Mcallister is shinier, but the Cambridge just looks better...

Did you feel silly buying practically the same shoe that you already had? I own merlot mcallisters and just fined it to be a waste buying merlot shell cambridges. You didn't feel the same way?

So I just found out that my order got delayed by the weather in the midwest and they said it'll be the end of next week before I'll get it.  Son of a *****.
