Just got off of the phone with Allison. Placed my order with the following options:

Promontory Point

Natural Chromexcel leather

Brass eyelets with the top three speed hooks

Tone on tone stitching

Double leather sole toasted edge

Brown regular welt

Blue calf lining (for fun)

The best part about it all is price. It's going to be a difficult 10 week wait.

Here are a few pics of the Pine River that I just got in from the seconds sale along with the Dundees.  You can see that the defect is some creasing behind the strap area.  That's no big deal in my book.  The Danite soles are a nice touch to these.  I plan to wear them casually and possibly business casual at times.

Can't wait to see these.

Mind posting in the thread if they say yes or no for the brogue strip on cap ? I always really liked the look of the eastland monroe and it would be amazing to make a promontory MTO with it.

I'll post what Alice says.

Any thoughts on the casualness of the boot? I was hoping to wear it with both jeans and possibly business casual when the weather's rough outside. I'm thinking the natural welt/edge might be too casual for the latter.

¸Personnally I think its going to be hard to pull off a business casual with that (obviously dependent on what your definition of business cas is), feels like its really going to be more of a jeans kind of boot, but I might be wrong, it is very hard to properly picture it.

For those that have seen past 2nds sale has the cordovan always been around $299?

Having trouble deciding.

Thanks.

Ebay is your friend. They come up from time to time.

They look really nice. On my screen the bourbon appears to have olive undertones in it

Yeah, I'm not saying its 'better'than a traditional short or long wing, just 'different'; that and the pebble grain (which is super supple/thin, BTW) puts it in its own category for my lineup. My foot LOVES this last, cuz I'm wide in the ball area and slim in the heel. No break in... Win.

Yeah, Michael... That's very, very, sick; that bourbon is smashing in that make up. Excellent composition, sir. Don't be mad if you see them over and over again on the thread in just that make up!

I am thoroughly impressed! Looks like you put a ton of thought into this and it turned out well!. I love the contrast of the lighter color between the upper and the sole edge! Most impressive MTO I have yet to see. Not saying it's the most beautiful shoe, some of those shell make-ups are hard to beat there, but all of the different elements of this shoe just blend and pop in all the right places. AE should get a professional quality picture of these bad boys and make them the poster child for their MTO program!
