I cannot for the life of me get anything resembling a shine on my brown shell patriots. I have VSC, Saphir Renovateur, Leather Defender, and AE's cordovan polish. No matter what I do, it creates a flat, dull shine. I've tried the mac method. I've stripped off what I believe is all the polish to the point the sides of the shoes visibly look 'dry'. I'd appreciate any insights.
I also have a pair of Cambridges which I have almost no problem getting a high shine out of.
You are not the first to have a pair of shell that just doesn't want to shine. The paste wax mentioned might be worth a try, you don't need Aden wax unless your trying to match #8. And even then most people used to use just good old fashioned Kiwi which would be fine. Not sure about the wax bringing about a fix that will last though. AE can refinish them and get a shine out of them, at least one person on here has done that. Saphir brown cordovan cream\wax may be able to help too. Good luck!
