AE Amok Chukka boot in Snuff Suede.

I ordered these back in September, took a while to get them, as they had to make them, but they are a nice boot. Hard to beat the price they sold them at, $104 shipped.

Very cool. I was surprised how young the VP/Controller and Mayor of Port Washington looked.

I definitely want to make it out there one of these days...

I use a Cabelas Club Visa credit card for most of my purchases.  I build up points for all purchases and double points for purchases at Cabelas.  In the past, I've used these points to buy outdoor clothes and guns.  Since I've amassed enough guns, I've been thinking of switching to some different kind of credit card that would let me cash in the points earned to pay towards the credit card bill or redeem towards gas or something.  But I got to thinking:  Wouldn't it be awesome to have an Allen Edmonds Visa card that would let me build up points that could be redeemed on new AE shoes?  I don't know much about high finance but if Cabelas can do it, why couldn't Allen Edmonds?  Judging by the fervor of the participants in this forum, I think it would be a great success.  A lot of people would get a new pair of AE shells every year or two if they could buy them with earned points, I'm sure of it.  AE if you are reading this, go ahead and steal my idea--I don't care about getting credit for the idea, I just want an AE visa.

Y'know, I was gonna wear mine today, but I had a similar concern about the width. My usual 5-65 shoes already have a pronounced-but-acceptable gap, but these are a tad bigger, likely from the sock liner. I think I'm gonna wear them around the house a bit to decide whether I need to go from 8.5D to 8.5E. If I recall, you probably have 8E and are curious about 8EE?

Keep in mind that suede is notorious for stretching easily.  I too had a wider gap on the suede strands I picked up, but thought it would disappear as my foot settled into the cork and the suede stretched.

Hey guys, I'm sure this question has been answered multiple times, but I can't seem to find it, so here goes.

Is it advised to size up for the bayfield due to the insole?

Thanks in advance you dapper blokes

There are some credit cards where you can use your points to buy things from Amazon.  If you got one of those cards, you could buy AE shoes from Amazon.

Really? How odd. I ordered dark brown grain from The web site. My receipt said dark brown grain. The box, when it arrived, said dark brown. And the boot itself is dark brown, with a grain print!

I have the waxy brown and mine do not have any "grain print".  I think only the dark brown has the grained leather.

It was a unique combination of him having store credit because of a return, a coupon he got when he recrafted his shoes (which everyone gets), a sale, and possibly something else. All those things actually cost money which isn't factored into the $39.

So yeah, it's not a $39 pair of shoes.

Gotcha.  I think I paid around $230 for my seconds and the flaw is pretty insignificant.  They are extremely comfortable and I really like them (but my Walnut Strands remain my favorite).
