I'm also thinking about jumping on this shell seconds sale... I sent Vincenzo an email so I could see what is available but if anyone else can share, that would be great (I'm looking at 8D / 8.5D).

Longbranch is my pick from AE.  (Indy from Alden is a great alternative)

Has anyone purchased the new Rush Streets yet? This shoe is at the top of my "want list".

My brand new LB (seconds) have a similar defect on the left shoe. I had a feeling when i first tried them on but I just ignored it, chalking it up to unequal genu varus/ valgus in my legs. I came home today and counted the brogueing perforations on either side of the eyelets. There is about a 1.5 (large) perforation offset difference between the left and right shoe. You can also see a bit of tongue poking out more so on the left. ffffuuuu.gif

I haven't worn them out of the house yet. What say you, my fellow detail-oriented friends? Should I keep them? They are the last 11.5E that are available...anywhere, and they fit beautifully. I have not found any boot similar to this style and profile, for the price. I paid $199 for them.

Is this defect unforgivable, or should I just love them more because of it, like a woman with a mole on her face? It was hard enough to obtain these (they were on hold for a while until the buyer finally let them go after about a week of calling back and forth), and I seriously doubt anyone (including myself) will notice it in the wild.
Darkside, I see you! Nice... The color on your LBs is rich. I noticed NOTHING WRONG with the left one until after passing it a few times, and rereading the post and comments. They're too pretty to take out a ruler and start measuring. Show 'em to the world, sir!

Do you plan on stripping the leather with the likes of Renomat prior to dying?

Unfortunately mine arrived with a big discoloration at the cap line and they fit much tighter than my calf Strands. I had about an inch lacing gap, so I had to send them back. Did they make these in an EE width?

Where, oh where did you get these, my friend? A must have in my arsenal.

 Long Branches or Bayfields?

(1) Which looks better with coat & tie?

(2) How does the fit compare?

(For those who have noticed me asking Long Branch questions for several months now, I assure you that I am near resolution.  I have a pair at home begging to be worn, but--as this will be my last shoe purchase for a long, long time--I wish to avoid even a hint of buyer's regret.  I wish I hadn't seen these (http://www.styleforum.net/t/168002/shoe-damage-report-shoe-p0rn-central-part-ii/675#post_3150719), as I cannot get them out of my mind--or find them.

The Long Branch is a much more casual and rugged looking boot. I have both, and have treated my LBs with HDLP and use them as I do my Wolverine 1000 Miles (though I'm wearing them today with cords, OCBD, tie and sweater due to the fact that Baton Rouge has snow/ice this morning for the first time in ages). I shined up my Bayfields pretty good and use them more as a dressy boot.

Sizewise, I had to size up a half in length for the Bayfield.

Long Branches today:
