It isn't something I can see when wearing them and it probably won't ever get worse, but torn leather is just a bit too much.

Nordstrom did a big special order on black strands just for the sale, but they are supposed to be firsts, so we should hold them to that quality.

I ordered the black strands and some black mccalisters to see which I liked best and the Strands came directly from AE.  The mccalisters had like 4 holes punched on the medallion but the leather was still in the holes.  A needle and fine tweezers were needed.

Since I have some wingtip players, I think I'll keep the cap toe strands.

I called an AE store and asked if I was too nitpicky about the missing holes and they pretty much told me a I was.  They told me it takes 4 weeks to make the shoe and it's hand made and blah blah blah blah...

Also, would missing holes be considered firsts?

For the smaller holes I would think so. I highly doubt QC would (and obviously didn't) catch that.

What method did you use for tying your shoes? I just laced mine with the double-helix method. I find the DH is too casual and military. Obviously the method was invented for a military boot.

These are some other methods I like. They all look relatively the same. Anyone have any suggestions of pros/cons?

I have been looking for that pic! I knew I came across that somewhere on here. I like that lacing. It fills in the Daltons wide eyelet spacing quite well.

The end result is weird. One lace is more visible than the other. It looks like you may have messed up IMO.

Blue T-shirt.

BTW, I haven't left the house yet.  I might change the socks when I do.  Or, I might not . . . .

Thanks. I may try that exact treatment. random-adam was kind enough to offer to send me some of his VSC surplus. I'll let y'all know how it goes.

Nice Dundee's dude! Would you mind posting a few more pics from different angles? Are they the regular Dundee makeup?

Not at all:

They're the regular Dundee makeup, but in a color (truffle aka cappuccino) that is basically extinct, save for a stray pair or two that may be floating around (which is how I came to take possession of these).

According to Vincenzo at the SB, they were just sitting on a shelf at the Boston store, and probably had been for at least a year.  Somebody up there likes me!

Regarding the discussion on resoling options...  I was thinking they had added the JR soles as an option for recrafting (with the same upcharge).  I may be wrong, and don't remember who said it, but I thought it was discussed recently.

This are really really nice! Are those available on the site or are a MTO?
