Same thing with Kenilworth's (in brown).

Every few months or so, the ShoeBank will have a 2/$250 sale that includes closeouts, AE for Ralph Lauren models and AE for Brooks Brothers seconds. You can get the BB Park Avenue version at this time (difference from standard AE is a poron insole and rubber outsole.)

I'd expect one of these sales within the next few months.

I've never seen the Kenilworth on any kind of deep discount. I strongly advise you to try on multiple pairs of this shoe before purchasing.

Thanks .. I'm probably going to wait on that sale then for the BB PA's

Goal is to add the PA's and Kenilworth to the developing AE collection =]

Kennys were on sale for 179$ during the RDA seconds sale in Oct.

But that's the only time I've seen.

Thanks. I tried to edit my old post but perhaps it's too old to be edited. Anyway, I renamed it to tan ink below, but stuck with the picture of the Natural Waxy Infused McTavish that Allison pointed me to. Though the Blue Suede Stewarts really show off how light it is.

Please let me know if there are any additions or corrections and I'll update as necessary. I know at the very least that I wasn't able to find all the edge dressing options someone figured out before.

Leather: any leather (calf/cowhide/Chromexcel/shell) in stock
Extra burnishing? optional
Stitching: tone-on-tone, contrast, practically any thread color (khaki, etc.)

Binding (topline piping / slip beading): certain color, none
Lining: unlined, standard, Independence lambskin, more?
Insole: standard, Independence, Poron, orthotic(?), more?
Welt type: flat, split reverse, more?
Wheeled edge (fudging)? optional on flat welts
Welt color: ("soft?") natural, chili, brown, black, "brown with reverse smokey stitch", more?
Edge dressing: tan inknatural toasted, light brown transparentbrown transparent, black, more?

Eyelets: blind, brass agatine, copper agatine, matched agatine (is this available?), more?
Speed hooks? optional on boots
Pull tab? optional on boots? Allison said (sometimes?) can't be removed if part of the pattern.
Sole: anything found here: http://issuu.com/allenedmonds/docs/ae_spring_digest_web_lr/46

Perfectly adorable t! I may have to look into this. Are they a standard Men's 6D? My wife is a women's 6D, wonder if they can make something that small?

Great idea and very well executed.

I am thinking about making some chili Strands, Fifth Streets, or something else... not too sure what I will do.

Go for chili since you have plenty of Merlot.

(time for some lunch and a glass of wine!)

I'd love to see the difference between the merlot and chili. I'm also debating which one to choose for an MTO. Appreciate if you could post pics of your McAllisters side by side as reference.

Thanks!

Yep. These are a standard mens 6D. No other changes. My wife is a women's 7.5.
Won't hurt to ask.

I've purchased Black Kenilworth on Amazon at ~$130 with a 30% coupon.

The brown shell Strand is AE's finest dress shoe IMO. nod[1].gif

Chili is a nice color, and quite unique. Burgundy/merlot is more versatile, however.

Get chili if your collection is lacking in that color.

Thanks for prompt reply! These are gorgeous! They are indeed very much different, and dare I say, the chili looks much closer to walnut than burgundy. I may be stretching my luck here but would you have a picture of these two together with a walnut shoe?

Not stretching at all, glad to help! Just don't ask about Bourbon, thats the one color I don't have yet.

The lighting in my kitchen brightens up the colors but you can still easily see there's a difference between all three colors.
